Was just fellowshiping in breakfast with a local Calvinist church and speaking theology to a brother whom says that Macs book Faith Works is a very very good read. Is it and what did you think? I have allot of books and have not yet read Macs first book in that series. Should I get Faith Works or not? It's selling for a penny on amazon so that won't break me.

If it's selling for a penny, who cares if the book is any good? If it's even mediocre you still get a good deal.

I have no idea. I've never read it. I'm not a big Macarthur fan. I just thought it was funny that you were asking if you should get a $0.01 book.

Shipping $3.99. No it won't break me. But you know how many books I have? Close to 300.

    300 total or 300 unread?

If the first and most are read - go ahead and get it. What's one more at this point?

If the second - go ahead and get it. What's one more at this point? (Provided of course you can fit it into the budget.)

It is well worth $4.00 - even if you disagree with him.

If the book is so good, how come it is only $0.01?

Sounds like they are trying to get rid of them.

Age of the book? Too many copies? Maybe it's used? Marked up? You can find a lot of good books for a penny.

This is also the first version of this book. I very much enjoyed myself with the Calvinist at breakfast. I love these guys they love to dive into theology and they are also dispensational and not Reformed whom hold to infant baptism and traditions.

Still, a penny? It's not worth packing the book for that, unless they are making money off the shipping.

And they don't just have one or two, but 92 copies at one penny each.

3.99 shipping + .16 tax depending on what state you buy from as some do not tax for online purchases. I doubt they are making much.

Allot of people do not like to dive into theology and hate those that proclaim it. I love Mac as he dives into the Bible.

I bought books by John MacArthur way back around 1985 I believe. I bet you weren't even born yet. Very few people even knew who he was back then.

I quit buying them because I disagreed with his views. Someday you will too.

Go ahead and get it and if it's no good you can always use it to build a fire in the old wood stove or better yet use it at the out house.

How about putting that money towards your debt instead? When you need to pay off debt, every penny counts.

That's from multiple Amazon sellers, not Amazon themselves. They definitely make it up on shipping because even first class shipping on a paperback book is only about a dollar.

Crown Financial says to live on a budget an so every check I create a budget and add some to savings, and pay back debts with what I have budgeted. The Crown money Map class (which I took) and his book does not teach Christians to live without any leisure activities, it simply says to BUDGET. However the bigger issue in my case is the income.

Last year when I had a much higher paying job (however issues with the hours) I easily knocked off one CC in 2 checks. It was 10 times easier with more income.

#1 - You said you have 300 books. I'm sure that there are a few you haven't read yet and can use your leisure activity for those.

#2 - You can get free books from libraries. I'm sure your church or another church near you has this book.

#3 - When you are in debt, you do not spend money on leisure activities. You find free things to do. See #2.
