This is the perfect response. It happened a few days ago at the Heritage panel on Benghazi. Naturally, liberals are saying that Brigitte Gabriel, the woman on the panel responding to the question, turned the event ‘ugly‘ and that the Muslim woman was ‘pounced on’ and ‘bullied’ by members of the panel. Of course, liberals are wrong again. They aren’t bullying this girl, they are calling her to speak out.

While I totally agree with the response given by Ms. Gabriel, it was totally off-topic. The young Muslim-American woman did not say anything about Muslims being portrayed badly (she said she didn't see them represented at the meeting), nor did Ms. Gabriel refute the idea the most Muslims are moderate (in fact she said that 75% to 85% of them are peaceful). The Muslim woman asked: "how can an ideological war be won with weapons?" Whereupon Ms. Gabriel launched into her lecture about radical elements of Islam, Nazis, Russian and Chinese communists, never touching the original question asked.

So yes, it is a great response to the assertion that "Muslims are moderate and portrayed badly". Yes, Ms. Gabriel "pounced" on the young Muslim lady. But I agree with you that she was not being bullied.

ITL - I would propose to you that she did, indeed, answer the young woman's question.

In each of the examples that Ms. Gabriel gave (Nazis, Japanese, etc.), she stressed that it was the radical few that caused the many deaths, and that the vast majority of peaceful factions were irrelevant; what she didn't stress, but that we all know, was that it was the response with weapons that stopped those radical few.

OK, I think you're right. She seems to say (at 19-21 second mark), "I know we portray Islam and >unintelligible< as bad..." (does she say homeless?)

She said "I know we lump all Muslims together and portray them as bad"
