That is despicable! I can't think of any other political campaign literature that I've ever seen that is worse than that! And I've been following politics since the 1968 elections.

I tried to find whose name or group was attached to that, but the image has been cropped and there was no information in the article. Somebody sponsored that flier and by law they are supposed to provide that information.

It is not surprising that Cochran would stoop so low. Everyone said that was the way he was.

What is surprising is that some people are so silly as to believe a flyer like that.

The longer that I live here, the more I am convinced that the average American voter has the I.Q. of a gnat.

The ZERO faced a Mormon who worried people with his membership, however nominal, in a dangerous cult and who refused to confront Obama in the debate on foreign policy.

What still amazes me is that people are so silly as to believe Cochran and cross party lines over it. This is just another example of why one should not cross party lines. The Democrats like to vote in the GOP primaries because their own party is so dysfunctional. My home county has no Democrat elected officials. They have good county, municipal, and township government.

What cult is that?? Koresh's outfit being revived?? The Jim Jones cult has been resurrected from the grave in Guyana? He's a secret member of Aum Shinrikyo?

    He became a Scientolgist???

Surely you're not referring to him being Mormon? Dangerous??? How? Are teen missionaries now coming to your door with AK-47s?? Smuggling drugs under their narrow black ties? Mugging old ladies for their NASB and KJV Bibles??

And refused to confront who over foreign policy in the debates? You don't think telling the president that, unlike him, your foreign policy isn't to give the U.S. to Russia? Or that laughing in his face when the president said "Libya likes us" doesn't constitute confrontation?

    Hm. Interesting. Very interesting.

TND, this is off the subject of the thread, which deals with the credulity of Democrats to believe a flyer that must have been written by a dirty Republican. (However, if you want to know the violent past of the Mormons as well as the violence connected with polygamy in Utah today, visit places like http://saintsalive.com/ or http://www.utlm.org/ or take another look at the new Brigham Young: Harry Reid.)

So will this despicable tactic that fooled Democrats so much cost Cochran the election in November? Afterall, he comes across as a sort of Hussein clone, doesn't he? Or is he just senile? Or does a demagogue win no matter what?

Methinks the average voter pays absolutely NO attention to the candidates until just before election time.

A perfect example is the victory of Lindsey Graham in SC. If I had seen nothing prior to the TV campaign lies I would have been an ardent supporter of the man. His commercials were an advertising marvel.

And when you pick the 10(+/-)% of the good things done, and ignore the other 90%, then keeping the electorate ignorant is a breeze; especially since they are so compliant to "the pros"!
