Sounds like sirens are on again and a rocket trail is being seen in Arad, as of about seven minutes ago. (someone there saying what they are living)
What Israel is going through lately is wild - if it isn't in the news you are reading, please look it up.
    It is extremely concerning.

It's a no-brainer that, unless you go to sources OUTSIDE the MSM, you will hear zilch UNTIL the Israelis retaliate - then ALL you will read is the retaliation, giving the impression that Israel just decided to suddenly get aggressive!!:BangHead::BangHead:

My heart and prayers are with Israel, but Israel holds some responsibility in all this. Israel has for years been playing this tick for tat game with these people. It is time for them to wipe them off the map. For every rocket that Hamas launches Israel should launch 100 along with carpet bombing the area and then occupy it and keep out any new terrorists.
Will there be civilian causalities, YES, but that is part of war. Yes do all you can within reason to limit civilian casualties but not at the expense of your own people or not winning the war in a swift manner.

    :tear:

I saw today that over 100 people are already dead due to the Israeli strikes. About 1/4 of which are children.

And people wonder where terrorists come from??

It comes from "oh, you poor child, the bad Israelis killed your parents ... (hush, don't tell him his parents shot rockets into Israel first, killing their fathers, mothers, and children....)"

The fact that one must have to explain this is just simply amazing. Epic even.:tear:

What's the death toll from the Gaza rocket attacks again?

I'm not saying Israel should just chill out and let them fire rockets at their cities, but to respond like this is flat out wrong. It is immoral aggression, not defensive. And the blanket support Christians are giving to this is sickening. I guess we've collectively forgotten the Sermon on the Mount.

    Uh ok?????

What is sickening is the head in the sand attitude about wear and from whom these attacks are coming from as well as the ultimate agenda behind it. Sickening is a good word.

So it's A-OK for Israel to kill over 100 people in 4 days, threaten a ground invasion w/ over 30,000 troops because of rocket attacks that have killed no one and accomplished nothing?

    Sickening is right...

Good point. Israel certainly has the right to defend herself, but there should be a sense of proportionality.

Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. Be of the same mind toward one another; do not be haughty in mind, but associate with the lowly. Do not be wise in your own estimation. Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. Respect what is right in the sight of all men. If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men. Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, "VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY," says the Lord. "BUT IF YOUR ENEMY IS HUNGRY, FEED HIM, AND IF HE IS THIRSTY, GIVE HIM A DRINK; FOR IN SO DOING YOU WILL HEAP BURNING COALS ON HIS HEAD." Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. - Rom 12:14-21 NASB

Exactly. As a independent government, Israel can bear the sword in its own defense if it is attacked. But to call this an appropriate defense is to truly have the head in the sand attitude.

If you post this, then you must believe Israel shouldn't respond at all. You seem to be contradicting yourself.

Should they respond, or not ?

Israel as a secular government can respond with violence if they so choose, they have that God given right (Rom 13). Christians should not. You asked for a Christian response, therefore I shared Romans 12.

Hypothetical question. Say you're getting pounded on, and the dude doing the pounding is saying he will not stop until you are dead.

Is it really a Christian response to stand there and take it ? Or would God want you to fight back ?

And the reason I asked for the "Christian" response is because you first accused us of forgetting the Sermon on the Mount.

To down play the rocket attacks in that way is absurd. This is not about tit for tat it is about making them stop the attacks period. Israel only seeks terrorists targets. If the terrorists would stop cowardly hiding among civilians (for propoganda issues) it would not be an issue. At the same toke those civilians support the attacks.

Israel has a right to defend themselves by whatever means. If Hamas would stop pobming them this would not even be an issue. No one is to blame for those deaths except Hamas and Hamas alone.

The agenda of Hamas is end Israel altoghter and "run them into the sea". Any criticism of Israel rightly defending themselves supports that.

They are responding with the only thing Hamas understands.

    Violence.

You can't negotiate with people who adamantly want you dead.

It is just a plain old stupid and idiotic ideology that says "they threw two bombs at us so we throw two bombs at them."

We return fire not to get even but to make them stop. Period. End of story. Whatever it takes.

I have no idea where liberals get their ideas from but it is a disease to be sure.

Not really comparable to the situation since a Christian's response to violence is not the same as a government's.

That said, I think the Christian in your scenario should try to get away or subdue the person, but not intentionally harm them or kill them.

I mentioned the SoM because of the beatitude "Blessed are the Peacemakers." Most Christians in the US and on this board are giving blanket support to anything Israel does, including this unjust aggression. When instead we should do whatever we can to bring about peace.

So Israel is "rightly defending" itself by blowing up a hundred people (there will be many more), half of which are women and children? That's really reasonable to you?

Yes, anyone who doesn't agree is liberal. The catch all smear that wins all arguments in some minds.

    Try and be reasonable.
