Transparent Gold

    Reading about streets of gold led me to recall a recent article that mentioned mixing gold with glass to impove transparency.
    Since my computer died a bit back, I am having some trouble looking up stuff in detail as desired, so perhaps someone else knows about this topic.
    Is pure gold translucent?
    Is this mention of gold, clear as glass, an example of scientific knowledge known by divine source, as it had yet to be discovered?

    I do not know about mixing it with glass, but I know that gold is malleable (sp?) enough to make transparent gold leaf.

    Does anyone have an idea behind the science of gold that is pure, (clear) yet durable?

    Never heard of clear gold. All new to me.

    Certainly don't think in it's current make up gold is clear. But God is not bound by natural law.

    One of those obnoxious gold and silver hypster companies is giving away a gold-foil $20 bill to those who invest with them. Yes, gold can be so finely milled it becomes translucent.

    I know it is not gold but there are transparent metals. Indium tin oxide is a conductive, transparent metal. It is used in aircraft windshields to deice them and numerous other application. Indium Corporation was founded in Utica, NY in 1934. I live about 10 miles from there.
