MicroSoft absorbed Nokia's mobile phone business this spring and now has over 125 thousand employees, which is a lot for the company, over twice what Apple and Google have combined. So while this isn't good news, it isn't indicative of the sluggish job market.

However, there are plenty of other negatives that this administration and Wall Street inexplicably continue to overlook, like the fact that the actually unemployment rate is skyrocketing to 37.2%, as that is how great a percentage of the labor force is not participating in the job market today.

Congress is an arm-waving blusterer, the chief executive is a dictator, and the courts are powerless to do anything about abuses of power until someone -- anyone -- brings a lawsuit. And no one is. Why?

Just another topic to denigrate the man that God has placed in authority over us.

As noted by TND, these job cuts are not indicative of whether anything is looking up or down.

These types of threads are like picking at a scab. If a person wants to be at odds with another, they can always find something. But this continues to make certain folks look petty and insincere about their "concerns".

It is not a pretty face for the Body of Christ or those who are supposed to represent Him, and those NOTHING towards pointing anyone towards Christ.

You completely ignore the fact that there are plenty of other indicators of a bad economy that this president ignores. And you lie about RD2's placement for concern, but the economy is in the toilet and Obama golfs ten weekends out of ten, and spends the weeks doing fundraising instead of governing. This president is unqualified and incompetent, and this Congress has abandoned its responsibilities to keep him in check and make him accountable. So don't try to make my response sound like "good news" either.

Microsoft is in trouble and it isn't going to get better for them soon. These job cuts are the result of years of poor management under Steve Balmer.

We can try to blame the President, but that isn't going to work. Watch to see how many of these jobs are relocated overseas. If there is one thing that President Obama has been trying to do, it is keep US jobs in the US for US workers.

I would be interested to know what specific steps Obama has taken. If you know you should call all the news outlets and tell them because no one else knows.

Because of the new medical devices tax built into ObamaCare or else simply the highest corporate tax rate in the industrialized world, companies are fleeing the U.S., typically by merging with companies overseas and then moving their headquarters there. So please tell me what Obama is doing to stop this flood? Has he proposed lowering the corporate tax rate? Has he considered repealing the medical device tax? No.

    --------------
Updated, 7:08 p.m. | At first it was a trickle. A few relatively unknown pharmaceutical companies acquired international competitors, and moved their headquarters abroad.

Then the pace picked up. Bigger health care companies, including Pfizer and Medtronic, also sought to relocate overseas, claiming that doing so would lower their tax rate and allow them to access trapped cash. Competitors felt pressure to match those financial advantages and began looking for deals of their own.

Now it is a flood. On Friday, AbbVie, a huge drug maker from Chicago, became the latest American multinational to attempt a so-called inversion, offering $46 billion for Shire, a drug maker with an Irish headquarters and a British stock listing.

While its initial bid was rejected, people briefed on AbbVie’s plans say it is determined to pursue Shire, or find another foreign company to buy.

In the health care industry, the dominoes are falling. Companies worth more than $400 billion have tried to leave the United States this year alone, potentially depriving the Treasury Department of billions of dollars in tax revenue. This week alone, the medical device maker Medtronic agreed to buy Covidien in an inversion worth $43 billion, and AbbVie made public its initial offer for Shire.

Other health care companies are considering buying overseas competitors that would allow them to invert. Allergan, currently the target of a hostile takeover attempt by Valeant Pharmaceuticals, was rumored to be considering a bid for Shire. And investment bankers say dozens more companies are plotting similar moves.

Reducing tax bills is rarely the only motivation for such megadeals. Inversions allow companies to access overseas cash more easily and make future acquisitions more attractive by sheltering foreign earnings overseas.

Liberals cause the jobs to leave the country by raising tax rates and minimum wage and then act like they don't know what is going on.

Liberals do not get to have it both ways. It is either resonable tax rates or the jobs go over seas. You do not get to have high tax rates and keep jobs in the country in a free republic.

When they raise tax rates for the purpose of redsributing wealth then those who create the wealth are not going to put up with the government redistributing the thing they created and they will go where they do not have to put up with that.

Just for you, brother, you truly earned this award. Hang it on your wal above your PC.

I not denigrating anyone, rather, I am posting facts that this administration is not doing enough to fix the unemployment crisis in America!

For the first time in 50 years, welfare records hit all time highs!

Not only are there more Americans then ever on wlefare, or unemplyment or homeless [no longer counted in those two numbers], the country is not doing better. WH and DC are making things loook good by way of smoke and mirrirs, but reality says differently! That is not denigrating, it is saying what is true!

Here's more reading to prove my point. Things are not better, by a far cry!

You are a lot like Harry Ried - who said today, that the borders are SECURE! Okay? If you want to fool yourself, and think the king's clothing looks great, go ahead and gawk....
