Gee, what could possibly go wrong with that plan??

Not to mention: $10 million??? To develop a"new breed of sophisticated 'socially assistive robots"???

All to teach kids ESL, learn to read and stay fit and cognitively sharp? So ... what are they going to pay teachers and coaches to do? Service the robots?

Is the National Science Foundation really that out of ideas for things to do?

Hey! While they're at it, maybe they can build me a coffee pot that will not only make the coffee in the morning but come get me out of bed when I don't want to get up!

As if, somehow, parents are not and should not be involved. Talk about government over reach.

I don't see anything about parents not being involved.

Parents do not need help in raising their kids. The govnerment does not need robots to influence kids to do anything.

Extremist liberals are more and more trying to bypass parents. This is another issue that if pushed too far has the potential to create a civil war.

Unfortunately parents are allowing this to happen, they allow the school to feed their kids, sit their kids after school. They allow outside organizations to supply packs full of supplies. Why aren't parents feeding/supplying their kids anymore?

Momma government sees a coming need and is trying to fill it.

I'm sure that's why parents should never bring their children to doctors.

To answer your question, many of these children would have been missing meals or not carrying around supplies in past times.

Then the "many" if really that many could be helped but the rest should be taken care of by the parents.

That's why school lunches aren't free for everyone nor are school supply packs given to every student.

Why is it liberals have such a hard time making legitimate comparisions?

That one awful woman on MSNBC Mellissa Harris-Perry wants children taken away from their parents--of course, that happened in Australia to Aborigines as dramatized in the movie Rabbit-Proof Fence. I find myself wondering if she would do it to her own race and I conclude that she would.

Reduced cost actually for those that pay. Last I heard the summer meals are free.

Last couple years teachers take all children supplies, dump it all together so those no one has any supplies - they all use out of the social barrel - those that don't have take from those that do.

That's never happened in my experience and I've been going to school in recent years.

Yep it happens in all the schools here in NM. They do it in Florida as well.

Their "reasoning gene" is corrupted. It's how they became liberals in the first place.
