Harsh, but sadly it's probably pretty accurate.

That I'm both an avid church member and an avid Mizzou fan, and none of those accusations against the church member apply to me, and #s 5-8 regarding the college football fan don't either.

For that matter, you could replace "college football fan" with "politics" "fishing" "spelunking" or any number of other pastimes, make minor adjustments to the forefront of each of those points, and make them fit, too.

I suppose in generalities, they might all apply to some limited number of fanatics for any of those passions, but I don't think digging out such comparisons is productive, given it probably alienates those fans of the various activities, who match up with all eleven accusations, from our opportunity to present the gospel to them.

But it does make you think about your priorities.
and that includes some on this board -
Every aspect of our life should be to glorify the Lord. Doesn't mean we cannot be involved in other activities - and we should be involved - but we need to keep things in perspective.

I remember years ago - President Jimmy Carter mentioned how he realized he put more effort into his political campaigns - then he did in serving the Lord. ( wish I could find a link for that statement)

I suspect this is less that TND goes out of his way to disagree with you, and more that he didn't go to the source and read the opening line:

Oh, I saw that. Nonetheless, I stand by this line in my other post ...
My point is the highlighted portion of the post. I do, in fact, realize it is "tongue-in-cheek" and it is entertaining. Unfortunately, "tongue-in-cheek" is often missed by the easily miffed.

And THills, I don't always disagree with you. It just seems that way.

And to the "easily miffed" (funny rhyme BTW) I say "get over it." :tongue3:
