Over the top praise for non-existent contributions of muslims.

I wonder also what muslims did to "build the very fabric of the nation"?

    What a silly claim.

BTW I had the opportunity to keep very close watch over 20 individuals who "observed" ramadan. It was enlightening. For most of them, it was a joke. They pretty much ate whatever they could get away with eating without being seen, (They thought) . Call it furtive snacking. At least half of them departed from the ceremony directly after they shared their evening meal, but before their closing prayer. I believe about 2 or 3 took it all very serious.

It doesn't sound like their behavior form a commitment standpoint is too much different from folks who profess to be Christians, Catholics, Jews, etc.

And like Obama and Muslims or not, there can be no denying that people of all faiths have played a part in building the fabric of the nation.

OK Let's have some examples of muslims playing a part in building the "very fabric" of the nation.

It's a ludicrous claim. I'd really like to see some examples.

"OK Let's have some examples of muslims playing a part in building the "very fabric" of the nation." Well out of 9/11 came a new world trade center, wouldn't have happened if it weren't for them.

There are hard working Muslims in this country who have helped to build the country as have their relatives before them.

Stop being silly. If yall don't want to believe it , you don't have to but it doesn't make it any less true.

If you need examples, Google is your friend.

They're living here just like I am and as resident aliens or naturalized or native-born citizens, they have a responsibility to do just that. I don't get praised by the president or anyone else for what I do. We shouldn't. We're doing our duty as responsible adults living in the United States.

When the president talks about "the many achievements and contributions of Muslim Americans to building the very fabric of our nation and strengthening the core of our democracy" he can't be talking about you and me. He has to be talking about founders and great American statesmen, clergy and entrepreneurs who made significant, history-changing contributions. If he's not, he doesn't understand the meaning of his grandiose speech.

And there aren't any Muslims that can claim to have made that kind of contribution. Google is also your friend. Go find one to prove me wrong.

Write him a letter and ask him to pat yall on the back too. Don't tell me that you're jealous of them getting attention from the President?

How are you gonna tell him what he can't be talking about? Him and his COS probably told the speech writers what he was talking about.

You need to stop. What he meant doesn't hinder upon how you want to frame what qualifies as "the many achievements and contributions of Muslim Americans to building the very fabric of our nation and strengthening the core of our democracy".

Hilarious. This man has got some of yall rattled.

What an ignorant deliberate misrepresentation of what I said. Shouldn't expect less from you, though.
I'm not. I'm telling you what he's talking about, and it isn't what you think it is.
Actually, the history of such comments from other presidents and statesmen demands that interpretation of what he said, and you can like that or not. He's trying, without proof, to credit Muslim Americans with contributions they didn't make -- yet. That doesn't mean they can't. Just haven't.

Oh please, quick! Tell me another one like that. After my last client's sob story, I needed a good belly laugh.

If I were a paving contractor, I would sell my wife to get to be big buddies with Zaac. Can you just imagine the fortune to be made if I could convince him to pay me to pave all those rabbit trails he creates so effortlessly and quickly!!!!!:smilewinkgrin:

    His credibility is shot.

He conducts himself more like a troll every day. But I will say he may be one of the few trolls I've seen who set himself up as a judge of the behavior of others on the board. Hypocrisy abounds in his criticism of anyone else as Christians.

You may be speaking the truth, BUT.....

.... the Muslims are a new culture to the American culture as a whole, and as of yet, they have not contributed GREATLY to what has made America great. Their contributions are still in the infancy stages, and time will tell just how great a part they play in helping to keep this nation strong, and ahead of the world we live in!

Time will tell ... and Michelle Obama was within her rights to speak her mind regarding the Muslims in America; it's just that I think she exaggerated a little more than she needed to, making her look a little foolish, or as you like to say, "Silly?"
