Tolerance LIst for those Agin Illegal's

Why am I not surprised this is published by Southern Poverty Law Center, the champion of murderers, anarchists and illegals? They have a great deal of faulty reasoning in their list.

1. SPLC's statistics are wrong, or they just plain lie. They state:
   Yet there are 12 million illegals in the country. Are they not counting any of them because "they don't exist on paper" or are they just lousy mathematicians?
2. SPLC gives the "okey-dokey" to illegal immigration simply because we've changed the rules and made it harder to enter the U.S. than we did 150 years ago.
   So what? The reasoning here is utterly stupid.
3. SPLC further excuses illegal immigration because we don't have guidelines for letting poor, uneducated people lacking skills into the country. I'd like to ask them, "Why should we?" We have plenty of our own poor, uneducated people lacking skills. Why do we need more? So we can add them to our welfare rolls?
4. SPLC poo-poos the complaint that both legals and illegals "refuse to speak English" by explaining that those older than 5 speak English "well" or "very well" -- but don't explain what that has to do with the fact they still don't speak English in public.
5. SPLC diverts attention from the fact that illegals don't want to become "Americanized" by giving the example of half a million legals who made the effort to learn the language, get a job and assimiate into society. Illegals don't do that. They remain isolated -- likely to escape detection from ICE -- and refuse to adopt American culture and customs. Case in point: The bar owner who insisted on flying the Mexican flag over the U.S. flag, and refused to take them down and reverse them.
6. SPLC uses a false dichotomy to explain away illegals taking jobs from Americans. They point to the decrease in the labor pool between 2000 and 2005, claiming our "aging population and better education" is reducing the number of available native-born workers. Yet the Millennials are the largest generation in history -- even bigger than the Boomers -- and their education scores, frankly, suck. So they are also the least educated generation. The truth is, they don't want to take jobs hanging drywall and mixing concrete, even though those jobs pay between $13-$20 and hour, which is a pretty good starting wage.
7. The claim that "Illegals bring crime" is a "myth" is just too stupid to even address.
8. SPLC is unbelievably disingenuous in trying to equate sales taxes and rent resulting in property taxes being paid by illegals. Aside from the obvious problem of crediting renters with paying property taxes -- those are going to be paid whether the building is rented or not -- the tax issue regarding illegals isn't about sales tax, gasoline tax, or property tax. Most of them don't own property, or if they do, it is confined to their cars, and they are notorious for not licensing them legally. The issue regarding illegals and taxes is income tax -- most are paid in case or support themselves by being self-employed, providing goods and/or services for which they are paid cash they don't report to the IRS.
9. SPLC claims there is no such thing as an "anchor baby" -- children born in the U.S. who are automatically U.S. citizens and thus "anchor" their parents to their homes in the U.S. by virtue of the need to care for their children. That is one of the most obnoxiously and blatantly false statements on the list. Judges regularly rule against ICE deportation requests -- despite the statements by SPLC on the website -- to keep families together. It used to be that one of the parents had to be a U.S. citizen for the child to be a citizen. This is just one more chink in U.S. armor in the liberals' efforts to undermine this country.
10. SPLC finishes this garbage by trying to explain away the crime of being an illegal entrant to the U.S. They foolishly ask, "Is a person who doesn't feed a parking meter a criminal?" I'd love to ask them, "Is it against the law to park at a meter without feeding it?" Perhaps even we don't think of ourselves as "criminals" if we don't feed a meter. The fact is, it is against the law. So is being illegal as a resident of the United States.

As is most of the claptrap that comes out of SPLC, this is useless drivel, nothing more than propaganda.

 

They're asking us to present half-truths to students, as if they are stupid. Anyone who does this should not be in the classroom.
Lower paying jobs are often lower paid because it is under the table. This is illegal and while it may contribute to lower costs like the author says, it translates to horrid working conditions for those workers with no recourse for injuries or abuse on the job, and lower taxes paid on both the wages and the lower cost product.
I could go on and on trying to correct that mess, but anyone who cares can go figure it out. Which is pretty much my opinion on what students should be directed to do anyhow. Go look at the evidence and see what you find. They just need a little guidance on where to look - what laws, what programs, etc.. They're smart and don't need to be told what to think. They can figure it out. It's people like the author of that article who don't want to give them the opportunity to do so, for fear they will.
