The Islamic State for Iraq and the Levant is mostly funded through criminal activity, such as the theft of a potential $425 million from a central bank in Mosul. But the group is also receiving private donations from wealthy Sunnis in American-allied Gulf nations such as Kuwait, Qatar, and, possibly, Saudi Arabia.

ISIS is now thought to be the world's richest terrorist organization, with an estimated $2 billion in funds.

This makes ISIS wealthier than several sovereign countries, including Nauru, Tonga, and the Marshall Islands.

Implausible Deniability - West's ISIS Terror Hordes in Iraq

August 8, 2014 (Tony Cartalucci - LD) - The US has pledged assistance for victims of and even possible "airstrikes" against terrorists who have surrounded and threaten to eradicate thousands of religious minorities in Iraq. However, the terrorists themselves are a product of US foreign policy in the Middle East and North Africa, and instrumental in achieving Western objectives across the region. Punitive strikes and aid to the victims of what is essentially a Western mercenary army is part of maintaining plausible deniability.

The terror hordes originated from NATO territory and have inundated Syria, Iraq, and now Lebanon. The goal of this well funded, heavily armed, professionally organized mercenary force is clearly to supplant pro-Iranian political and military fronts across Tehran's arc of influence - from Baghdad to Damascus, to Lebanon and Hezbollah along the Mediterranean. In the process, the heavily indoctrinated rank and file have committed horrific atrocities ranging from rape and torture to mass executions and sectarian genocide. While such war crimes have been taking place in Syria since 2011, it is becoming increasingly difficult to cover up similar crimes beyond Syria's borders under narratives of "civil war" linked to the so-called "Arab Spring."

Washington is just reluctant to destroy it's own creation. Kind of like Dr. Frankenstein didn't want to see his monster destroyed.

Al Qaeda or what ever they're calling the "big outside threat" these days has been very very good for Washington and the neocons that have infested the government and media.

As Iraq Burns, US Plans $500 Million to Terrorists in Syria

July 3, 2014 (Tony Cartalucci - NEO) - The New York Times in its article, "Obama Requests Money to Train ‘Appropriately Vetted’ Syrian Rebels," stated:

President Obama requested $500 million from Congress on Thursday to train and equip what the White House is calling “appropriately vetted” members of the Syrian opposition, reflecting increased worry about the spillover of the Syrian conflict into Iraq.

The reportage is a stunning entanglement of contradictions, claiming that the additional funding for terrorists fighting in Syria will somehow address "spillover" that is in fact a direct result of US, NATO, and their Persian Gulf collaborators' creation, expansion, and perpetuation of the war in Syria in the first place.

    The NYT also stated:

The training program would be a significant step for a president who has consistently resisted providing military aid to the rebels in the conflict in Syria, and has warned of the dangers of American intervention. But military and State Department officials indicated that there were not yet any specific programs to arm and train the rebels that the money would fund, nor could administration officials specify which moderate Syrian opposition members they intended to train and support, or where they would be trained.

Despite the NYT's attempt to portray the US as having "consistently resisted providing military aid" to terrorists operating along and within Syria's borders, the US, UK, NATO, and the Persian Gulf monarchies have provided terrorists hundreds of millions in aid, including weapons, equipment, and even vehicles. NATO-member Turkey has also provided air and artillery cover for terrorists during cross border operations including most recently in the northwest village of Kessab.

A little bit o back story.

Is it just me or does it seem to you like the "Appropriately Vetted" Syrian rebels just morphed into "ISIS"?

    Way to go team.
