Well, I am a Calvinist, but I will respond anyway. Yes, Trevor has a soul. Spirit/soul --not much of a difference.

They say he didn't have a brain. I disagree. He couldn't see, couldn't speak, couldn't hear possibly --but I think that he had an awareness. His mother vouched for that. And I could see him moving his body for greater comfort.

I'm curous as to why you have asked that question.

So you are neither a Cal or a non cal? So finally have a real Arminian on the Board?

I think there are several views of "ensoulment" i.e. when does God form our human spirit within us. My view is at conception.

I believe Arminius or an Arminian would consider himself a nonCalvinist Y1! I thank GOD that I was not exposed to pre-trib dispensationalism until I was sufficiently learned in Scripture to know better!

WOW!... Did that touch me. Just a little bit about me brethren... I have a 34 year old son who has the mind of an 8 year old. He is in a group home and called me yesterday and said Daddy I went to church and prayed for you did you pray for me. I told him I pray for you everyday. He definitely has a soul and spirit and Jesus called his son home.

We have two can loads of those folks who come to church every week. They had been to two other churches who was not very patient with them. We love having them and they are a big part of our church.

We love them a great deal. Not sure how a church can call itself a church that rejects them.

They reject them... IMHO... They reject Jesus Christ because he loves them. There is a biblical warning about harming Gods children... I had my say!:jesus:

I retired after working years with mentally and physically handicapped people. They were some of God's greatest blessings in my life! I loved them all.

I play a free Bluegrass concert fore convalescing folks every Tuesday afternoon. The five of us. There is one dude, he never misses our show, he sits and draws these amazing colored pencil drawings, and never makes a peep. As soon as we finish our show he starts singing to the women who work there as everyone is leaving the dining room, in this lovely voice, these old show tunes. Perfect intonation, loud and proud. Sorry to sound crass but you do not have to talk to him very long to figure out why he is there, but he does have God's anointing on his voice. He's probably about 30. You wonder how God works sometimes. That guy sings better than any of the five of us, but it's kind of impossible to have him sing. any of our stuff.

    Thanx for sharing, T-dale.

Want a real rewarding challenge ? Work with juvenile delinquents. I worked in a secure facility for them for nine years. You won't get rich but you will never forget the experiences.

I worked with a man for several years. His son was my age (mid-20s at the time) but was severely autistic, to the point of having the mind of a child. The man allowed his grief over the situation to turn into anger at God for "doing that to my boy and my family." It was tragic. Another co-worker and I realized that it was a special situation, as his son would never have to deal with the troubles of our lives. Some people are capable of seeing how blessed that is. Others, like the man in question, took it out on God and blamed Him.

As for the boy in the video, yes, I believe he has a soul. This is one of the biggest falling outs I have with the Calvinism that some espouse. The notion that God would allow a baby or child, without knowledge of good or evil, nor having had a chance to accept His sacrifice, to go to Hell is troubling.
