I'm a strong believer in corporal punishment administered in the proper spirit with the proper tools.

I'm not a fan of switches. Had 'em used on me when I was little. A little too much and they'll bring blood.

That being said, I don't trust the "authorities" to make that determination. Too many of them have agendas that could send a man to jail for properly disciplining his child.

Don't have enough information to comment further on this particular case.

Reports are coming out that the boy was 4 years old, received at least 9 marks that were severe enough to bleed.

If that is true, it was too much. The next question is...is that the first and only time? Or is it a common occurrence? Does he realize it was too much with the wrong tool?

Is criminal prosecution really required or would counseling work?

We still don't have enough information.

It is ridiculous how far he went and is trying to justify it as some sort of accident. Chris Carter had a very emotional rant at the desk on his NFL show and it was fantastic. Unfortunately, the Vikings have reinstated Peterson. The NFL has had a pretty tough week but they are going to need to figure out just what stance they want portrayed on a lot of issues to the rest of the country. The female fanbase already feels betrayed and this isn't going to help things.

If the Vikings don't suspend or release Peterson I'm going to have to pick a new NFL team to root for. I'm taking suggestions, prefer an NFC team. Can't be the Packers, Bears, or Saints. Probably not the Falcons.

    The answer is always Dallas.

Nah, they brought back the DE who killed his own teammate in a drunk driving accident last year. I know they are bad on defense but let's try to have some standards here.

Detroit Lions are looking like a good selection. They are improving, they will play the Vikings at least twice every season, so can root for the Vikings to lose, and they have the best wide receive.....oh wait. They've got Ndamukong Suh. Dang.

    Arizona? Carolina?

Maybe not Carolina. They've got Greg Hardy who was found guilty of assault. The team finally deactivated him last week, but we'll see if he plays this Sunday.
