For the true elect of God on this board I have an assignment I have been doing and I challenge you to do the same. Why not put to use some of your apologetics books, tracts, and skills, and strive to evangelize the false churches/ other religions in your area? Its a research assignment but maybe you might lead and or persuade a pastor to change his ways? I have contacted a Post Modernism church where they use open profanity on their site, a American Baptist Church where they said they do not take the bible literally, nor preach on sin, a Joel Osteen clone church, a Homosexual/ lesbian so called church, and some others. However I am finding that some of the Pentecostal/charismatic churches hold to the essentials of the faith, we just disagree on secondary issues so I leave them alone. We live in a day of pluralism and relativism so people just believe whatever they want and even Christians just stay in their bubble and do not take John 14:6, Acts 4:12, nor the Great Commission seriously. I have thousands of tracts and many books. I'd start off with writing a letter and including some gospel tracts in the mail. But you may call, visit or whatever works for you. I think it's good to do this.

Pray over this and pray for the Lord to lead you to the right churches. I am presently addressing a letter to a church that uses Contemplative Prayer (a New Age practice) and advertises so called Gay Christian books. Not a word of sin, nor judgment, nor hell, nor repentance, nor holiness and sanctification are mentioned on their site.

I've prayed. Is it okay if I pass on this challenge, and concentrate on meeting the needs of the people in my area and in my church?

Pass on the challenge. Take the great commission seriously, take John 14:6 seriously and reach the lost. Also read the book of Jude. Be like the Apostle Paul and use reason to persuade the false teachers of their destiny.

So the lost in my area, and even in my church (we have people attending who are not members, and haven't made any professions of faith), aren't as important as your challenge?

Did I say that? People attending a church but are not saved are hungry and may repent of their sin soon. I personally would show them kindness and give them grace and lead them to repentance. However those I speak about as whom Jude and 2 Peter address are in a different category. Generally very proud people and so give them the LAW as I did in letters written.

I apologize. I've re-read my initial question, and realize that I didn't make myself clear. My question is: I've prayed about it; is it okay if I don't accept your challenge, and instead concentrate on the lost individuals in my church and my area?

Since the Bible describes the true elect of God as Jewish believers, are gentile believers included?

I have a challenge for you...be faithful in your own church. We know how misguided and uninformed they are, since you haven't hesitated to tell us.

God has called us to witness to the Lost, and to give Jesus as hope to those who need encoragement, but where did he call us to go out to churches and pastors teach false doctrines?

You can have such a ministry from Him, but where would all Christians have that same mandate though?

Perhaps not. However my reading of scripture and that of gifted teachers my mandate is to preach the gospel to all of creation. False teachers are included in the list of the lost.

Reach the lost everywhere... In the church, at the grocery store, in DT Denver, at the park, and in the false churches.

I actually just spoke with a major ministry that loves apologetics and they print apologetics type books. They thought it a good idea to evangelize and reason with the cults and false churches in my area. A great way to put the books in practice. But only the HS can open the mind of the leaders of the false churches to hear my arguments.

Also they said good books are based on the Bible and he pointed me to Hebrews on not forsaking the fellowship. Books by good authors are worth reading and those that are against books are also against sermons.

Regarding your quote (bolded for emphasis), to quote myself from another thread:

Which hardware store did you buy that "broad brush" from? I've been looking for a new one.
