I started another thread on ISIS/ISIL not being any more directly related to the Muslim faith than let's say, Westboro Baptist or even the KKK, are directly related to the Baptist denominations!

Still, I have met resistance, which leaves me thinking, is America's mindset on the Muslim religion one that would say, "The only good American Muslim is a dead American Muslim?"

I have come across so very patriotic, devoted Muslims! And they are willing to die to keep religion in this nation free of radicalism!

So, what say you about the question of this topic? Are all Muslims anti-American, and deserving of death? :type:

I'll tell you what. If I ever run across any Muslims that are willing to pubically condmen the action of Jihad in any form then I will believe there are moderate muslims.

Let me give you a hint. It aint going to happen.

You may be right, Rev., but does that mean that we should do what we as a nation did in WW2, and round up all Musims and place them in gaurded camps?

BTW - I do agree with you, in that not once have we seen the Muslims standing on the corners of our streets, protesting against radical Islam! Still, I know some very good Muslim people, and I believe them when they say they are afraidn of Radical Islam and what it would do if it got a foothold in America!

Now, these acqauaintances do not see eye-to-eye with me on religion, but that seems to be the only deal breaker when we discuss issues!

If you push them far enough they will admit to supporting jihad where Israel is concerned.

We have reached a point in our nation’s descent into psychotic tribalist fear where people of stature and apparent sobriety unabashedly use the expression “final solution” when discussing the existence of Muslims.

For ISIS “and those similarly motivated,” insists retired Marine Lt. Col. James G. Zumwalt in an essay published by Family Security Matters, “a rational world should recognize but one `final solution’ exists — their extinction.”

Sorry, but it takes a Democrat to put people in camps. We don't have an FDR right now. Woodrow Wilson put Debs in prison for speaking against WW I and Harding let him out. That tells you who is repressive and who is not. Of course, we had to pay reparations to the Americans put in camps in WW II by FDR.

I do think that we should stop all immigration from Islamic countries.

That might be the most ignorant thing you have ever said on this board. How about the hundreds of local nationals that served as interpreters that put their lives on the line on a daily base just so we could communicate when out on patrol.

    Mark Twain said it best

“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.”

Yes of course when all else fails liberals pull out the race/bigotry card. When you have done that it is obvious you have nothing else.

You have not been on this board long enough to know whether anything is iether the best or worst thing said on this board.

When Muslims stand out in public in the US and denounce any and all forms of jihad including jihad against Israel I will believe there is a moderate Muslim and support their efforts. Until then everything esle is a non starter.

I recall that immediately after Nine Eleven, Ravi Zacharias wrote a little book Light in the Shadow of Jihad: The Struggle for Truth saying in part that what happened next depended upon moderate Muslims.

My personal opinion is that many are moderate or indifferent but they are too weak to be of any influence in the Islamic world which is ruled by the rich and the militaristic. If they speak up, they, too, will be executed.

Islam must be contained as communism was. One way to do that is to stop buying oil from Islamic states. A bankrupt Islam cannot constantly attack.

Nice strawman. Never said anything about bigotry/race. I have something you don't. A worldview based off of travel, experience and knowledge.

So what do you think should happen? You think that random moderate muslims can just whip up a press conference or something? There have already been countless Muslim leaders condemning what is happening in the world right now but you know what, you won't see it because you only search for confirmation bias while effectively shutting down any chance at educating yourself. Your websites serve your purpose and that is the definition of willful ignorance. You're right though Rev, I haven't seen your entire posting history. I'm sure you've challenged this post before in the past. I have no doubt about it.

I am genuinely baffled why a Pastor of a Church posts nothing but negative posts on this message board. You seem unhappy quite frankly and I don't get it. I rarely ever see you make a light hearted or warm post towards another poster. You post nothing but doom and gloom threads and spend the rest of your time "liberal" hunting. Cheer up buddy, life just ain't that bad.

Why would a layman attack a Pastor over politics? Actually, Rev.Mitchell has made several light-hearted posts to me and I am not a Methodist but if I lived in his town I would join his church because Rev.Mitchell is very intelligent and he preaches the Good News.

I'm not attacking him. It is a legitimate question. All I ever see him post is bad news on this bulletin board or threads that serve partisan gamesmanship.

Of course you would then you could both sit around and make unsubstantiated claims together. :1_grouphug:

Of course he'd run away and hide after doing so and you'd try to paint anyone that asks for evidence as a traitor. Like you did here . . .

Want to see him run away and hide? That's easy challenge him to provide evidence to back up his claims.

He'll up and disappear until he thinks everyone has forgotten about it.

He doesn't like me because I won't let people forget.

You keep posting things and talking about other posters as if you have been here for any length of time at all. You have not been here long enough to know anyone. What you need to do is settle in and wait til you get to know folks instead of attacking everyone based on no knowledge of anything.

By the way, your very first post was an attack on someone else. Maybe you are just projecting out of a guilty conscience.

As far as the bigotry and race quote, maybe you should actually read your own quotes before posting them.

In other words, you should shut up and let the Rev and his buddies post all the govt propaganda and fear mongering they want in silence.

Like I said if you want to make the Rev disappear ask him to prove his claims. All you'll hear after that is . . . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Re72di5phM0

I may be somewhat of a new poster but I wasn't born yesterday and I don't need 25,000 posts to discuss current events here. I've been posting here months and all you do is post "aha gotcha" moments with regards to partisan politics or you find some article that supports your worldview and ignore the complete story because instead of searching for all available information, you search to confirm your opinion. I've even been cordial to you before and was pretty much ignored when trying to offer you an apology. Just place me on your ignore list along with everyone else that has the gall to disagree with you. Enjoy your echo chamber.
