City of Houston demands pastors turn over sermons

This is exactly what I expect to happen in this country. Progressives could care less about the Constitution and rule of law. For them it is about pushing their agenda. If the facts in this report are accurate then Christians need to support those pastors in Houston who are the target of their mayor's unlawful agenda. If these men actually are sent to jail for doing what is right then Houston will be a rallying cry for those who stand firm for the Gospel.

Do you suppose Joel Osteen should hand over his sermons?

I doubt Joel Osteen would be openly critical of the mayor or of the g*y agenda.

Joel is no threat to the homosexual community BUT there are some Pastors who are not afraid to stand up and say "thus says the Lord"!

They rescinded that, and are no longer demanding the sermons.

Nevertheless, she did try to use the power of her office inappropriately and will try again with perhaps a little more subtility. Texas pastors specifically need to be extra vigilant.

She may, it is true. But now people are watching her, and the eyes of America are on her. I doubt she'll try soon.

This was just a taste of what is to come. I for one will NEVER "marry" a ghey couple. It's only a matter of time until they attempt to FORCE us ministers to wed these types of folks. They are now drunk with power and I hope they DO push everyone too hard and receive the backlash. And in that theme, I hope the voters take her out of office!

Gov Huckabee suggested that all the pastors turn in a copy of the Bill of Rights to these thought police.

I'm not worried about who got where first. I'm concerned about the Gospel. Who gets the press clippings is of little consequence. Paul said, "What then? In every way Christ is proclaimed and in this I rejoice."

That is already happening - there is a discussion in another thread - that couple in Idaho are being threatened with jail and a large fine if they do not marry a hom0sexual couple.

Would someone in Houston open the BB there and print my signature for them?

At least those Clergy who stand up for God's morality and His standards will be in good company,as they persecuted Jesus and the Apostles for same thing!

Those churches who are now ordaining and marrying outside of the will of God have nothing to worry about, except that it is a grave error to go against God!
