How Nigeria stopped Ebola dead in it's tracts

Very encouraging and impressive write up of the success Nigeria has had with their outbreak of Ebola. They were actually able to overcome the "worst nightmare" scenario when Ebola broke out in the city of Lagos of which is home to roughly 21 million people. A lot of hardwork in contact tracing and support of the international medical community went a long way here. God is good. West Africa is going to need some more help as they don't quite have access to the same resources. Somebody needs to capture the lessons learned here and spread the word.

I'm looking at my post and I even did a word search in the article for Texas and I got nothing. Is this a mistake post? Are you asking me something?

Would you care to contribute to the thread? I know that since this is a positive story that nobody will post in it because it can't be used for the partisan scorebord. Nobody really cares about ebola anyway.

 

We already use these methods and techniques so this is more for the struggles in the weaker Western African countries. We never actually had an outbreak to contain. They did.

Anyways, according to the CDC, an “outbreak” is the occurrence of more cases of disease than normally expected within a specific place or group of people over a given period of time.

Considering the man we brought in for treatment and the infected nurses who are stabilized I wouldn't really call this unexpected given the direct exposure they had.


I'm not interested in quibbling over the definition of outbreak, if you want to call it an outbreak go for it but the bottom line is that it is being contained the same way it was in Lagos.
