I just finished watching an interesting documentary on the History Channel. It made a compelling argument for a secret group of elitists and their plan to create a fascist new world order. The theory was that the Georgia Guidestones are a coded plan for the foundation of this order, and a secret base, and series of tunnels beneath the Denver Airport will be used to "thin the herd" so to speak, down below 500 million people, move Washington DC to Denver, and form a new world order and religion, which has been in the plans since at least 1979.

While I find the entire premise a bit far fetched, I must admit, the series "America Unearthed" had some interesting points to consider.

If you ever get a chance to see the show, it would be interesting to hear your comments.

But in the meantime, what are your thoughts of a fascist new world order, just waiting for the right opportunity to kick in?

I wondered how long it would take before he was mentioned.

...Almost invoked his name myself, but I resisted the temptation.

Disclosure: A lifelong friend of mine is an air traffic controller in Denver. I have flown to/from Denver International Airport three times in the past five years.

I saw part of this program the previous time it was broadcast (or one like it.) It claims ancient Stapleton airport (built in 1929) was plenty adequate and the new airport didn't need to be built. From that premise the rest of the conspiracy builds.

    1. The new airport is huge, a vast, sprawling complex with unused underground tunnels. These tunnels will be used to shelter the elite after they unleash a deadly virus on the world. Yes, this is another plot to thin the human herd to a more manageable population level.
The new airport wasn't needed, they say, so this gigantic complex must have a secret, evil function. Actually the unused tunnels are leftovers from an automated luggage handling system that never worked. There were cost overruns and delays opening the airport due to this failed system. Eventually they abandoned the idea. The other tunnels have light rail trains that connect the far-flung gates to the main terminal. I suggest using Google Maps to take an aerial view of the airport to see for yourself how huge it is. (Located on the northeast fringe of suburban Denver outside the loop of interstate highways.) Naturally, when you see the overhead view you will notice the terminals are configured to resemble a swastika.

    2. Maybe it's not so secret after all. Conspiracy theorists say there are clues in the strange artwork in the airport. Gargoyle statues, odd paintings, cryptic messages on walls and floors, embedded in murals, the Masons symbol, etc. Idea is that the elite left secret messages in plain view. But the reality is most of these messages are written in the languages of native-American tribes indigenous to Colorado.

    3. The super wealthy, including the queen of England are buying up land around the airport.

Now, I don't know about you but if I were to build a secret base, impervious to invasion, military assaults, and easy to quarantine, I might choose to put it inside the Rocky Mountains some 30 miles west, instead of the airport site which is built on flat land in the middle of scrub brush country. Unlike villains in bad spy movies I would not mark it with coded messages and secret maps showing the world my intentions.

Isn't it terrible what's become of the History Channel?

One of the pleasures of being a pastor is I get several of these kinds of emails every week. If we believe all of them, we'd already have ushered in an era of social destruction. Thankfully, most of us are smarter than that.

Yeah most of us believe whatever Washington and the corporation's media tell us to believe. No matter how many times they've been proven wrong.

I imagine it can be difficult to keep a full line up going 24/7. Rather than attacking the history channel itself why not just we use our own judgment on what is worth while and credible and what is not.

RD - America Unearthed is wonderful as a work of fiction. Beyond that, Scott Wolter is not the greatest excuse for a scientist. I've watched the show several times and seen many encounters like this:

Wolter: "This rock in Kansas has lines carved in it that may be Norse runes."

Actual Geologist/Historian: "Maybe, but it's highly unlikely. They actually look like erosion patterns."

Wolter: "Well, I'm convinced. The Norse vikings made it to Kansas and established the city of Topeka as their new capital."

    Actual Geologist/Historian: "That's a bit of a leap, Scott."

Wolter: "Join us next week when I become convinced that the Mayans traveled to space and a time travelers helped build the Mississippi River."

At what point did this thread stop being about America Unearthed and the Denver airport global conspiracy and instead become a catch-all for other links?

Maybe y'all should leave my name out of it if you don't want me posting evidence of a world wide conspiracy in your cute little threads.

"The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country. ...We are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of. This is a logical result of the way in which our democratic society is organized. Vast numbers of human beings must cooperate in this manner if they are to live together as a smoothly functioning society. ...In almost every act of our daily lives, whether in the sphere of politics or business, in our social conduct or our ethical thinking, we are dominated by the relatively small number of persons...who understand the mental processes and social patterns of the masses. It is they who pull the wires which control the public mind."

"Propaganda" by Edward L. Bernays (the father of modern advertising), 1928.

"The technetronic era involves the gradual appearance of a more controlled society. Such a society would be dominated by an elite, unrestrained by traditional values. Soon it will be possible to assert almost continuous surveillance over every citizen and maintain up-to-date complete files containing even the most personal information about the citizen. These files will be subject to instantaneous retrieval by the authorities."

Zbigniew Brezinski, Between Two Ages, America's Role in the Technotronic Era 1970

"A total world population of 250-300 million people, a 95% decline from present levels, would be ideal."

Audubon magazine, interview with Ted Turner, 1996

"We are grateful to The Washington Post, The New York Times, Time Magazine and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost forty years. It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subject to the bright lights of publicity during those years. But, the work is now much more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world government. The supranational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national autodetermination practiced in past centuries."

David Rockefeller, founder of the Trilateral Commission, in an address to a meeting of The Trilateral Commission, in June, 1991.

Joe Biden on Creating a “New World Order”

Last Friday, on April 5, in his address to the 38th Annual Conference of the Export-Import Bank of the United States in Washington, D.C., Vice President Joe Biden (shown) asserted that “the affirmative task we have now is to actually create a new world order.” (See his remarks in the video below.)

Whenever globalist-minded politicians, bankers, academics, and corporate executives start talking about a “new world order,” sensible folks take alarm. That is because it has become obvious over the past few decades that in elite, globalist circles this phrase has been, and is, code for “global governance” and, eventually, world government. And, of course, as surely as night follows day, the “progressive” media hacks in the MSM and alternative media are always quick to ridicule anyone that points out this obvious fact.

Thus did Gawker.com on April 7 rush to satirize NWO concern in its post, “Conspiracy-Theorist Christmas Comes Early as Biden Uses Term ‘New World Order’”:

That faint rumble you heard on Friday afternoon was the sound of a thousand gleeful conspiracy-theorists firing up their webcams (and bobbing excitedly in their desk chairs like a kid at a toy store) as Vice President Joe Biden used the term "New World Order" when describing trade laws at the Export-Import Bank Conference in Washington.

Gawker.com concludes with: “Friday was a banner day for conspiracy theorists everywhere, as a blunder from a Vice President known for making blunders has reignited another failed discussion of how to understand the world.”

The Gawker.com writer is merely regurgitating the same Wizard of Oz misdirection (“Don’t pay any attention to that man behind the curtain”) that the one-world media opinion cartel has been propagating for decades. One wonders how he managed to avoid the usual reference to tin-foil hats, Elvis sightings, and alien UFOs! But sensible people can be excused for not being so easily put off by this apparent deception. There is now evidence aplenty to convince any sentient being that proposals and references to a “new world order” invariably are tied to efforts to erode national sovereignty and lead toward world government through steady political and economic merger on regional and global levels.

By the time President George H.W. Bush issued his startling series of pleas for a new world order in 1990 (see video below), regular readers of this magazine were already well aware that both Democrat and Republican insiders had been pushing for one-world government through a multitude of programs for many years.

What role does the "History Channel" play in all this? Misdirection.

Thank you for this deeply thought out and well presented refutation of all the evidence I just posted.

I hope you didn't strain yourself too much.

Appeal to ridicule (also called appeal to mockery, ab absurdo, or the horse laugh[1]), is an informal fallacy which presents an opponent's argument as absurd, ridiculous, or in any way humorous, to the specific end of a foregone conclusion that the argument lacks any substance which would merit consideration.

Appeal to ridicule is often found in the form of comparing a nuanced circumstance or argument to a laughably commonplace occurrence or to some other irrelevancy on the basis of comedic timing, wordplay, or making an opponent and their argument the object of a joke. This is a rhetorical tactic that mocks an opponent's argument or standpoint, attempting to inspire an emotional reaction (making it a type of appeal to emotion) in the audience and to highlight any counter-intuitive aspects of that argument, making it appear foolish and contrary to common sense. This is typically done by making a mockery of the argument's foundation that represents it in an uncharitable and overly simplified way.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Appeal_to_ridicule

In other words Rolf's "appeal to ridicule" is a simple minded tactic for simple minded folks.

I reckon it's easier than actually thinking.
