Exodus 22:21 (KJV) Thou shalt neither vex a stranger, nor oppress him: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.

His Imperial Majesty BO quoted the Hebrew Scripture in an effort to advance his political point. Now we know that HIM BO dislikes Jews (except on election day) and has made it clear that Christianity is based upon Scripture that is full of contradictions and untenable.

Why didn't HIM BO quote from the Quran?

Presidents have been called "king" or "emperor" throughout history.

It is noteworthy that you chose a cartoon of another progressive. However, His Imperial Majesty BO clearly violated the law because he said many times previously that what he did last night was illegal. However, it is also noteworthy that the act will be signed in Las Vegas, a city that desperately needs an unlimited supply of cheap labor to keep its sleazy self going. What future is there for anyone in a racket-infested place like Las Vegas?

While I agree with you on the illegality, it is interesting to note that conservatives have been saying Obama is nothing but a community organizer, but now that he's contradicting himself on a legal matter, he is a Harvard educated constitutional scholar who ought to know better.

Bush had a Harvard MBA and you hated him so I don't quite see your point about the Ivy League.

In the case of His Imperial Majesty BO, we have known for some time that he is a liar.

I "hated" Bush? Making things up in your head, I see. Oh, you're going to have to prove that one. Where did I say that?

    Newsflash! Politicians are liars!

To say that HIM BO is a constitutional scholar with an Ivy League Harvard degree is like saying that Al Sharpton is an ordained minister. But that is a side note. We don't know anything about HIM BO personally except the fact that he was at Harvard. We do not have his thesis or his transcripts and we do not know how he paid his way at either Occident or Harvard. Did he lie at Occident and get a scholarship by saying that he was an Indonesian?

The Ivy League runs everything and a very bad job they are doing.

    Obama quotes Hebrew Scripture

Obama, best known for his dismissal of Christianity (available on YouTube) and his slurs against Israel and their elected leader, a special forces hero, as a coward, quoted Hebrew Scripture last night.

Do you think that he merely was trying to reach for a weapon to attack the Jews and Christians in the audience?

And how do you think that Exodus 22:21 applies to the fact that the USA does not defend her borders and does not have an orderly system of immigration?

And why didn't Obama find something from the religion nearest his heart and quote from the Quran?

    What Obama quoted was:

Exodus 22:21 (KJV) Thou shalt neither vex a stranger, nor oppress him: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.

    Emperor this. Imperial that.

Do some of you just latch on to everything that Rush and Sean have the GOP saying.

If Congress has a problem with the power of executive orders, then take it away.

No problem with executive orders--that's a red herring. The problem is with illegal orders, which everyone admits that this one is illegal.

    What everyone?

And you have yet to explain why it's illegal. What law has he broken?

I'm starting to think by the name that you're calling him that the illegality is the red herring and that this is just another opportunity to complain because the GOP candidates lost two elections.

Even the worthless Democrat Senator from Indiana said that Obama acted illegally.

One reason that Obama acted so soon is that he realized that the Senate election in LA was lost to the GOP.

The President cannot fail to enforce the law. The law calls for the deportation of all criminals who are here illegally. To be here illegally is criminal so therefore all illegals should be deported for a criminal act. The President takes an oath to uphold the law--of course, I realize that Obama was lying when he took the oath....

So somebody from Indiana said it was illegal and that makes it so? Why is it illegal?

    That's not illegal.

The law calls for the deportation of all criminals who are here illegally. To be here illegally is criminal so therefore all illegals should be deported for a criminal act. [/QUOTE]

There's always exceptions. If there were no exceptions to deporting people, we couldn't very well give anyone asylum. There is latitude in the law to do just what he did just as it was there for Reagan and Bush.

You haven't mentioned any law that he's broken.

What Obama is doing is illegal because he is in fact exaggerating prosecutorial discretion. In the past the US supreme court has said that while there is some discretion that discretion is controlled by restrictions. This discretion can be used in individual cases or in small groups but not in broad sweeping amnesty for an entire class of people where he refuses to enforce the law for mass amounts of people.

The US Surpreme Court also said years back that it is congress who have the "plenary authority" to regulate immigration which is found in Article 1 Section 8 of the US Constitution. What he has done usurps that Congressional power.

With regard to immigration and prosecutorial discretion, in 1996 congress passed a law limiting that with regards to immigration. Ordering law enforcement not to prosecute illegals goes against that duly passed law.

You need to leave Reagan and Bush Sr. out of your discussion because they were acting to enforce Congressional law.

It would be impossible to round up all illegals. Therefore, the President needs to uphold the law as best as he can. He's made a judgment call not to go after everybody. He's drawn the line at people who came here 5 years ago or longer will not be in danger of being deported.

Now, we can disagree about whether or not that is a good judgment call, but he's upholding the law according to his criteria.

The Republicans are in a box. The Democrats are better at this sort of thing than the Republicans. I think that is why there is so much anger among Republicans.

No, they expanded the law unilaterally. That is essentially what Obama is doing as well. The difference is that there were far few immigrants involved and the mood of the people was in favor of Reagan and Bush taking the action.
