Republicans call Obama executive actions ‘damaging to presidency,’ file lawsuit over Obamacare

House Speaker John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) on Friday fired twin salvos at President Obama’s recent executive actions, announcing a House lawsuit challenging the implementation of the new health law and vowing to counter Obama’s move to provide relief to millions of illegal immigrants with additional legislative action.

In a clearly coordinated campaign against what Republicans have labeled as Obama’s “imperial presidency,” Boehner (R-Ohio) announced the filing of the lawsuit minutes after he publicly denounced Obama’s executive action on immigration.

“If this president can get away with making his own laws, future presidents will have the ability to as well. The House has an obligation to stand up for the Constitution, and that is exactly why we are pursuing this course of action,” Boehner said in a statement.

Ohh, so Rush and Sean sent the crib notes to Boehner and now he's repeating the "imperial" talking point.

They need to be kicked out of office for wasting the public's time. There is nothing illegal about what he did. And somebody needs to tell them that just because they don't like it, doesn't make it illegal.

When push comes to shove, Boehner will fold like a house of cards.

Unfortunately, I tend to agree with you. The Democrats are just better at playing the game of politics.

Isn't stopping the President from expanding the powers of the office playing to the good of all the American people?

I fear the Republicans will go down without a whimper.

Probably not. And it is not a winnable battle. It is simply more stupid GOP politics and will make them look silly. Continuing to fight lost battles give no promise of being able to lead ... only being able to continuing saying "No" to everything.

Probably so as they know this is only politics and is not winnable in the long run. When are they going to wise up? This is simply a poor attempt to placate the Tea Party folk.

Let's talk next March after the Republican controlled Congress has passed several pieces of legislation, yes, including immigration, but Obama vetoes them. Who's the party of No, then?

    What goes around comes around.

It is history and won't happen, but it would have been nice if the GOP had actually attempted to move the country forward the last 6 years instead of passing house bills they knew had no chance and opposed everything Obama proposed, even opposed things they had pushed for before he was elected.

The senate, much the same. Remember O'Connell filibustering his own idea only minutes after that the Democrats had accepted it?

Now they need to show they can really lead. This means often means moving toward the middle and compromising a bit. They could do much, but I am not optimistic so far.

There was more than 300 pieces of legislation sitting on the desk of Harry Reid who would not let any of them get through.

So the idea that it was the GOP that was keeping the country from moving forward is nothing but propaganda and an out and out lie that should not be told by any Christian with any integrity.

Of course if one is willing to support abortionist organizations like Planned Parenthood then lying is a piece of cake.
