Brother Salty posted this in another thread in another forum....

Now for my Sisters on here, I am not desiring to offend any of you, so please read this carefully....

I know that what Brother Salty said, even the best surgeon would have a hard time removing his tongue from the inside of his cheek. But I think the family home went downhill, downhill fast, after women went into the workforce. Now, I'm the biggest 'women's libber' you'll ever find. I am not saying a woman can't work. Some have to because their husband was fired/laid off, had bills coming out of their ears, needed medical insurance, and sundry reasons. But there are some who work just because they want to. Either of them are fine. But I think that the family structure went to 'pot' after they left the house. A woman's place is in the house. They are the ones better equipped to keep things running smoothly. They are better at taking care of the kids, imo. I remember in HS and college and the term 'latch key kids' being used, because a vast majority of kids came home to empty homes, seeing both parents were working to make ends meet.

I think that a lot of society's problems escalated as the 'women's lib' movement got bigger and bigger. Kids weren't being raised by their parents, and especially their mothers, because they didn't have the necessary time to instruct them.

The command to 'eat bread by the sweat of your face' was given to men, and not women. What do you Brothers and Sisters think about this?

Again Sisters, I do not mean this as an insult. If you're working, you should get the same amount of respect AND pay as a man. I just think that if women are working and they truly don't need/have to, they should consentrate on the home...:saint:

Mods/admins, if this isn't the right forum to put this in, please move it.

...in my mind, a woman's "place" should/can be understood as a mandate for them to be women. Feminine. Women were created to be a "Help Meet". Should the need arise requiring additional income then what is the alternative?

Genesis 2:18 - And the LORD God said, [It is] not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

Clearly, the two are better than one. The two become one.

Years ago my wife went to work for an accountant who fully understood that when the need arose..., our children came first. No problem he said..., until the first need arose. She then got fired. Soon, she was offered the same opportunity and was able to work at home. Problem solved.

Agreed. It just seems some women work when they don't need to. If that's the case, IMO, the structure of the family is severely compromised. Look, if they want to work, fine. It's none of my bee's wax...just giving my two copper pennies...

Looked at the "What We Believe"part of the site. Then Googled William Marrion Branham. Red Flag.

Those highly educated, independent thinking women clearly have nothing to offer our society. We should seek out misunderstood cultural norms from 2000 years ago. (/irony off)

I'm embarrassed by this thread. The home isn't the place for women, its the place for families. We are stronger as a society, as a church, and as family with women who stand on their own feet, think with their own minds, and contribute however they are called by God.

That when women left the home, the family as a whole suffered. I am a women's libber, but I think it hurt the home when the mommy started working...

I love the fact that I married a man who supports traditional roles and allows me to stay home. It is a blessing to both of us to have me home, keeping the house in order and being free to enjoy evenings with my husband. Now I grew up in a single parent home so I have all the respect in the world for single mothers doing it all on their own. But as much as I respect my own mother I never want my kids to have to deal with a working outside the home mother if at all possible. I feel like my primary role after wife is mother with in the family.

^^^Bingo!! This post is the essence of what I was (poorly) conveying. If you want to work, it is your right to do so. It's just that, imo, a wife/mommy at home stabilizes the family structure...

My mother was a blessed keeper of our home AND she also worked outside the home.

My family wasn't "damaged" nor were we in violation of God's "plan" for women.

That's truly good to hear. If a woman wants to work, more power to her...
