I frequently use Bible.org which promotes the NET (New English Translation) along with its excellent notes.

They have a some great contemporary commentary authors who hold to a conservative approach in their interpretation of the bible.

I am guessing from your moniker that you are a woman and I can tell you what I'm doing now for my study and I'm LOVING it. It is a study from Jen Wilkin on 1, 2, 3 John (which we happen to be studying in church on Sunday as well) and she has all of her studies online for free. There is a goodsized workbook you can print out and then she has podcasts to listen to at the end of each week's study. She is very Biblically sound, IMO and she is so easy to listen to. The link to John's Epistle study is at http://jenwilkin.podbean.com/category/123-john/ and there are links on the sidebar for her other studies. DEFINITELY worthwhile!
