It seems, as reported by the morning news, that a woman has "Cancelled" Christ mass (the birth of Christ, right/) to teach her children a lesson. I didn't know she could do that.

She hasn't canceled the birth of Christ. She may have canceled the Christmas holiday at her house but nothing can undo history.

According to a quote from the mother, she and her family are not cancelling the celebration of Christ's birth nor are they refusing to decorate the house.

According to her, they have cancelled the "Santa Claus" aspect for their children because as she says, "they are ungrateful for what they have".

She told them to change their behavior - or else. And they didn't change.

She says she is trying to instill a different value than "entitlement" in her children and they will be taking the money spent on toys and such and spend it on others as an effort of giving and not taking this season.

You should fact check these rumors before you make assumptions.

It was not a rumor and I didn't make any assumption. I took it literally. But I accept your scolding as it was intended.
Christmas by most definition is "The Birth of Christ." To cancel Christmas you would thereby cancel "The birth of Christ". To end the Santa Claus story must be another name than "Christmas".

Actually, Christmas is the CELEBRATION of the birth of Christ. If Christmas was the actual birth of Christ, then we would have celebrated it over 2000 years ago and that's it. Christ isn't born yearly but we celebrate that one historic occasion just like your birthday isn't the birth of T Alan but the celebration of that date. So this woman can cancel all she wants but she can't cancel Jesus' birth.
