I noticed that in the link the race of the cops or assailants were not given - but does that make a difference?

Well, one suspect is in custody and not dead so he probably isn't black. And generally if the news doesn't mention race, somebody is white. Maybe they'll surprise us.

    Glad the officers are okay.

The corrupt old media are much more likely to "leave out" the race of the shooter when they are black. But the police always know and always report it.

    We know zaac is lying.

The early reports are the the cops were white. Since it was in the Watts part of town it can be presumed the suspect was black. But since no one was killed, this was a victory for the cops.

They want to commit these terrorist acts to keep the police out of their neighborhood so they can run loose. Plain and simple.

It sure seems to be gang related. And you are correct! They get the police, especially white cop, to be more timid and second guessing everything they do, especially if it means use of weapons, more cops will die, because they lose the edge.

Obama is privately rejoicing with all the division he has stirred up since Brown's killing. One more area he has brought change to. He has severely weakened the military and does not support them any more than he does cops, and with the men and women sworn to enforce laws and protect the public being second guessed and looked at as baby killers, which turns a minority group against those who uphold the laws.

We are weaker now than ever before. What a shame direction for the greatest nation to be heading in.:tear:

SO what in the story that you linked gives you the impression that it's gang related?

More Six Degrees of Separation , Obama style.

Foolishness. I guess upholding the law when viewed through the lens of white privilege now means shooting 12 year olds in the park or shooting folks shopping in Walmart.

When the folks who are supposed to serve and protect are gunning down unarmed black men left and right and part of the country's demographic is okay with it, then we deserve to be weak. If that is how this country is going to treat part of its citizenry, then it deserves to be torn apart again in the same manner that it was during the Civil War.

White privilege is a beast. It'll eat a country up without the majority of folks even recognizing it.

Man please. Cops getting shot at isn't a new thing. I assisted a gang task force in that early 90's somewhere in Alabama. Some idiot(s) were always shooting in the direction of the police just for being in their territory. I guess it was gang-banger privilege.

From the link below, here are two statements, that suggest, it may be gang related. Besides I never said it was .... kind sir .... I said, and I quote, "It sure seems to be gang related."

Now let's see if I can help you to put the two together? First. I know the area . well, and it was Watts, and there is heavy gang activity there. Second I made that comment well after the initial post, and that was based upon an updated television news report. Third. The cops pretty much believe it as a gang, because of the increased gang related shooting in that particular six-block area of LA! Finally. I did what most people who report news do, I took a leap of faith and made a deduction based on the evidence I provided to you in items 1-3. That, kind sir, is what writers refer to as "literary or creative license." [http://dictionary.reverso.net/english-cobuild/literary license]

** If you choose to not believe this, fine. When the final report comes out, I'll send you the link. If I am wrong I'll be the first to apologize to you. That is far much better than I can expect to recieve from you should you be proven wrong, right?

"Police have not yet determined a motive for Sunday night's shooting in South Los Angeles — an area plagued by gang violence — but said there were no indications it was linked to other attacks on police in the country." and "Chief Charlie Beck said at a news conference Monday that he was concerned that people might be targeting officers but added that the neighborhood had been marred by gang violence during the past several months and there had been a significant number of gang shootings."

Now yall have yourself a good day!
And yall come on back real soon. Ya hear me?

HA HA HA HA HA !! LOL!! <wipes away tears>

That's one of the funniest things I've ever read!

Memo to "writer": Creative license, by definition, means deviating from the facts to create drama. It's absolutely, positively, the very last thing that should be done in a police investigation.

You advocate taking creative license with reporting the news! In other words, let's make up stuff! Priceless!

[And it explains much about how you interpret things. Actually, that's kind of scary.]

This is one of the dumbest things you've ever written. But you're proud of yourself for "presenting your creatively licensed version of what you think is the truth" as though it is the truth. You should be a FOX News contributor.

Nothing I've said, with the creative license, is any dumber or stupid or assuming than all the propaganda you preach, day after day, on racial relations pertaining to the Ferguson and New York fiasco. You seem to have bought into the "Don't shoot, hands up" thing as if it were factual, even after a Grand Jury said it wasn't that way!

So, once again, you are pointing fingers at another for something you do all the time without even thinking about it!

As for it being a gang related shooting, the one guy caught is a gang member, here is the offical link - http://www.dailynews.com/general-ne...-with-shooting-at-lapd-patrol-car-in-south-la

I hope you are man enough to apologize for all the assumptions and accusations you lodged in my directon over my use of Creative License? :type:

    From the article:
Taylor and the second suspect were actually trying to shoot rival gang members who were in a car nearby, but opened fire just as the patrol car came through the area, prosecutors allege.

That the suspects were gang members is very likely. The thing that caused me to roar with laughter was your assertion that,

As if most reporters just make stuff up for dramatic purposes.

Your definition isn't even relevant. People that follow the link will see that.

Once again the dark side of the light you project has broken through. Such wasted potential just to grind an ax. Someone needs to LIGHTEN back up, In the Light? :flower: As for seeing things, your continued harassment of me will reveal the ugly side of your light. So we'll watch and see who sees what. Peace.....

Whoa Dude, you are way off base on this. Do you really believe the following:

People reporting the news don't have a "creative license". They have a journalistic responsibility to report only the facts.

It's fine to offer up your opinions on the news and facts. It's asinine to believe that it's OK to embellish the news itself.

    "Axe grinding"
    "Harrassment"

Hardly. It's more about correcting error. You are a walking misinformation source. Examples, just in the last week or so:

"Millions of Americans are working three or four part time jobs"

"I did what most people who report news do...[used] literary or creative license."

"Obama has never apologized for his mistakes."

If you don't want to be corrected don't post erroneous information.
