More Calvinist doctrine presented in a non Cal/Arm forum.

This Calvinist gospel say "if you are one of the elect, chosen individually before creation, then you were saved when Christ died for you 2000 years ago." Nothing you can do will alter the foreordained outcome of your life, or the lives of your loved ones. You were saved or damned from all eternity for all eternity.

The idea that all mankind has the opportunity to be reconciled to God is missing from the Calvinist gospel.

    Good find. Thanks.

If someone had made a post recommending a free non-Calvinist devotional in this forum, would you have been equally indignant?

    I doubt it.

So you're saying that the quote that you posted is wrong? That God didn't save me but I saved myself?

Hi R.L, I see you questioned my character, rather than address the malfeasance of advocating Calvinism in the wrong forum.

Yes, I am saying the quote reflects Calvinism dogma, which as you may know, is mistaken dogma.

The Calvinist gospel says, "if you are one of the elect, chosen individually before creation, then you were saved when Christ died for you 2000 years ago." Nothing you can do will alter the foreordained outcome of your life, or the lives of your loved ones. You were saved or damned from all eternity for all eternity.

The idea that all mankind has the opportunity to be reconciled to God is missing from the Calvinist gospel.

For God so loved the world that He gave His one of a kind Son so that whoever believes into Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

You know, I really do want to discuss this with you but I am entirely convinced from our past conversations and the way you behave here on an almost daily basis, that conversation with you is impossible. If you are so defensive against a simple question like mine, then may I suggest you unplug for a while? Relax dude, it isn't the end of the world and Calvinism isn't the bogeyman.

Hi R.L, you attacked my character, I did not attack yours. Charging me with your malfeasance is SOP for Calvinists. Note Annsi did actually ask a straightforward question, which I answered.

My question was just as straightforward. I did not attack you.

Again, if you are so defensive over something so small, then maybe you ought to get off the internet for a while.

BTW, that's just a suggestion, not an attack...

Let's get back to the OP OK? Whether it is Calvinist or not has no bearing on this issue. It's a good publication and I thought I would share that it is free for this month. If someone doesn't want to utilize it's availability, that's their choice. But this was not a C/A discussion and so this is the correct place to put it.

Ann you are usually pretty fair to others in response. I do not believe this post reflects that.

That's actually the way I'm reading his objection.

Yet another quote demonstrating this "free" mistaken view strips the good news of "the Kingdom of God is at hand, repent and believe" and says, if you were elected before creation, Jesus saved you 2000 years ago. If not you are doomed! Not the gospel of Christ. The Good News is that whoever believes into Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

At the end of the day you read his mistaken post quite correctly as he misunderstands the truth of the teaching and attacks the teaching and those who would hold to it.
you offered something nice......that he could accept or not accept as they argue for. Free Choice......lol....but it can only be free if Van or RM...gets to define freedom.

Note how the Calvinists love to speak in generalities, providing no actual content. The Calvinist Gospel presents futility, you were either saved or damned from eternity, and nothing you do will alter that foreordained outcome for you and your loved ones.

Calvinists deny Christ died for all mankind and that God desires all men to be saved. They say God decided before creation who would be saved and the rest face eternal damnation. Not the gospel of Christ.
