You find yourself marooned on a remote island (don't ask me how you got there from your recliner). You meet a native man that has never in his memory been off the island but he speaks a form of English and you two are the only ones there.

The skies grow dark and you and he head for a cave where he points to a totem pole and says this is the God of the rain and sun, ask him to protect us.

You know your rescue is imminent (within the hour) and you know he is not willing to leave nor will you be able to return.

What do you tell him of or do you tell him of the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob, Jesus and repentance?

I would begin with discussing that the history of man relative to religion and the worship of deities points toward a engineered need and desire for something bigger than ourselves. I would mention some of the ANE stories of creation and the god's that resulted. I would also discuss the Anthropic principle highlighting the extraordinary "coincidences" required for a universe as we know it. I would follow with the story or creation from the Scripture and how it proposed One God and that this One God then called upon mankind to be His image bearer. Mankind rejected that role and disobeyed and brought the death and separation from our creator. The remainder of the story being the story of Israel's calling and eventually the advent of Christ who was to provide the redemption of humankind.

I would tell him that rescue is on the way by men greater than the totem pole, then I would tell him of his Creator.
