We can keep this conversation going.

New Jerusalem Bible (NJB): "Now if you agree with me we can all get together and finally order our meal. Waiter, I'll have the pork chops and a cup of wine."

Jewish Publication Society (JPS): "Oh my G_d! You didn't really mean to order pork, did you! You're killing me."

The New Testament in Modern English (Phillips):
Sitting closely beside the New International Version and Weymouth

I tell you plainly that am mystified that anyone could partake of a meal that Jesus eateth not. Rescind that order!

Tyndale: Younge man, Iesus sayde: 'I am nott come to destroye them but to fulfyll them.'

King James Version (KJV): I'll have the same meal that Tyndale is having but not on those plain plates, giveth me the royal treatment.

That is too funny. I'll have to share it with my husband when he gets home.

Very funny, although the KJV needs some work on its declensions (which shewest how difficult it be to get the Jacobean English correct when one speaketh it not.)

NASB: Would have insisted to sit at the head of the formal equivalency section, which would have set off a row.

NKJV: It was there but just kept saying 'Me, too" when King James spoke.

And don't you realize that the Living Bible is the life of the party.

They got the invitation but responded with apologies. Something about "a pair of oxen", I believe.

Bystander: "Hey REB. Howya' doin'? I heard your English is the best of all translations."

REB : "I am British. We know the proper way to form a coherent sentence."

"Phillips here. Don't I merit some credit? I think I used our Mother Tongue quite well I must say with all due humility."

REB : "I do appreciate your work J.B.We Brits have to stick together"

Bystander : "I heard that. You speak like an American with that expression."

REB : "Perish the thought. We originated it in all likelihood."

Phillips : "Come now old chap. You'll give the Yanks the wrong idea about us."

    You are a poser.

May I quote myself? "The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart." (Ps. 119:8)

    "All Scripture is God-breathed..." (2 Tim. 3:16)

If you cannot stick to the subject of the thread and call names, please do not answer my posts. That is twice.

Mike, alias, S/N. You need to fess up and repent. You were banned for your continual bad conduct. Now you have engaged in lying and misrepresentation of yourself.

Stick with forums that accept you and your ways.

Bay Psalter: Let us heare songs of prayse
    Some musik with soule.
    vnto Iehovah while we graze.
    Nothing dole.

Holman Christian Standard Version (HCSV): I'm really not into soul but the Messiah did love his psalms.

New Living Translation (NLT): Yeah no opera or rap, I'd like music everyone can understand.
