So... the wife and I drove past a Royal Farms gas station/market and here was a guy with speakers set up by the road, speakers facing the customers who were pumping gas. He was telling them God was angry with sinners everyday, etc etc etc. I guess it won't be long before the owner of the station has the police remove him. Then he can claim how he was "persecuted for righteousness' sake; for the cause of Christ", etc. This draws more harm than good. It creates a spectacle and laughs from others. Creates a scene and his end purpose is not accomplished (except his ego boost).

I am not against street preaching per se. I am concerned with street preachers who are imprecatory masters and who lack a true gospel appeal. Some street preachers seem so angry. They are not modern day Jeremiah's.

A Royal Farms store, huh? You must be in my neck of the woods.

I didn't hear the guy you're talking about, so I can't speak to him, specifically, but open air preaching is both Biblical and helpful.

Be happy they're only laughing. Jesus said if you preach the Gospel, they'd try to kill you.

Incidentally, he was not wrong to say that God is angry with sinners every day. It's from Psalm 7:11.

Exactly. Just because some do it badly or in a wrong way doesn't mean the practice is bad or wrong.

Same here. Care to share your location?

We had a Bible college a few blocks from our home. One of the requirements was that potential preachers overcome their fears. To do that, they stood alongside a busy 4-lane street preaching at the top of their voices. Each time I drove by I gave them a thumbs up.
