The Roman Catholic Church’s False Gospel By Michael Houke
    *
    What is the Gospel?
    *
*The Bible says that it is the power of God unto Salvation… (Romans 1:16) Therefore, a church's "gospel" is what that church teaches about how people receive Salvation-how they are saved from sins and get to heaven.
    *
The Roman Catholic Church teaches a false gospel:
    *
Its gospel is the very opposite of the Bible's Gospel. *I will prove that to you here. *(Please remember: I am not being unkind to Roman Catholics. I am telling them the truth from the Bible so that they can be saved and go to heaven when they die. *It's the Roman Catholic Church that is unkind to Catholics because it willfully keeps them in darkness by teaching false doctrine, which is totally unsupported by the Bible, that leaves Catholics bound by Satan, lost in their sins, and doomed to eternal hell.)
    *
All of the quotes used in this article come directly from the Roman Catholic Catechism
    *
You can verify this for yourself: Just *look up each of the following doctrines using the current Roman Catholic Catechism online. You just need to copy and paste the paragraph numbers, which will be listed below, into the search box on the Catechism web site. You can simply click here to go to the Roman Catholic Catechism web site)
    *
The Roman Catholic Catechism is published and distributed by the Roman Catholic Church and is considered authoritative regarding Catholic doctrine. *One Roman Catholic Source said, “ …The essence of our Roman Catholic Church is enshrined in the CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH (Latest Edition 1997), which comprehensively presents the true Deposit of Faith proclaimed by God's Revelation” (http://www.catholicmediacoalition.org/catechism orlando.htm).
    *
Proof that the Roman Catholic Church’s Gospel is False:
    *
    I. *The Roman Catholic Church's gospel is FALSE because it teaches that baptism saves:
    *
1272* Incorporated into Christ by Baptism, the person baptized is configured to Christ. Baptism seals the Christian with the indelible spiritual mark (character) of his belonging to Christ. No sin can erase this mark, even if sin prevents Baptism from bearing the fruits of salvation. Given once for all, Baptism cannot be repeated.
    *
1257 The Lord himself affirms that Baptism is necessary for salvation. …The Church does not know of any means other than Baptism that assures entry into eternal beatitude; this is why she takes care not to neglect the mission she has received from the Lord to see that all who can be baptized are "reborn of water and the Spirit." God has bound salvation to the sacrament of Baptism, but he himself is not bound by his sacraments.
    *
1213 Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit (vitae spiritualis ianua), and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; …Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word."
    *
    I. The Bible does NOT teach that Baptism Saves. *In this section, I will use the truth from the Bible to refute the Roman Catholic Church's false doctrine about baptism:
    *
The Bible says: The sinner can only be saved one way. His sins, which are many, must be atoned for (paid for). *For baptism to save, it must have the power to wash away sins, but the Bible tells us that only ONE thing can wash away sins! The following verses constitute only a small portion of proof from the Bible that could be marshaled to prove that sins are washed away only by the blood of Jesus Christ.
    *
And from Jesus Christ the faithful witness and first begotten of the dead who washed us from our sins in his own blood (Revelation 1:5). *
    *
Wherefore Jesus also that he might sanctify the people with his own blood suffered without the camp (Hebrews 13:12 ).
    *
And almost all things are by the law purged with blood: and without shedding of blood is no remission (Hebrews 9:22 ). *
    *
Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot (I Peter 1:18-19)
    *
But now in Christ Jesus, ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ (Ephesians 2:13).
    *
    *
II. The Roman Catholic Church's gospel is FALSE because it teaches that we can save ourselves and others through works:
    *
980 It is through the sacrament of Penance that the baptized can be reconciled with God and with the Church: …"a laborious kind of baptism." This sacrament of Penance is necessary for salvation for those who have fallen after Baptism…
    *
1479 Since the faithful departed now being purified are also members of the same communion of saints, one way we can help them is to obtain indulgences for them, so that the temporal punishments due for their sins may be remitted.
    *
1815 The gift of faith remains in one who has not sinned against it. But "faith apart from works is dead": when it is deprived of hope and love, faith does not fully unite the believer to Christ and does not make him a living member of his Body.
    *
1475 In this wonderful exchange, the holiness of one profits others ... Thus recourse to the communion of saints lets the contrite sinner be more promptly and efficaciously purified of the punishments for sin.
    *
II. The Bible does NOT teach that our works can save us. *Therefore, the Roman Catholic Church's doctrine about works is unbiblical and, hence, false. Following, you will find several of the literally dozens of Bible passages that PROVE that works do NOT save:
    *
*****The Bible says: If we rely upon works (either our own or those of anyone other than Jesus Christ) to save us from our sins, we only earn further condemnation (This means we make our situation WORSE with God by trying to earn salvation by our own works; our debt before God only grows larger).
    *
Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. *But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. *(Romans 4:2-5).
    *
But Israel which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness. Wherefore? *Because they sought it not by faith but as it were by the works of the law… (Romans 9:30?).
    *
Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified (Galatians 2:16). *
    *
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. *Not of works, lest any man should boast (Eph 2:8-9) *
    *
III. The Roman Catholic Church's gospel is false because it uses the Eucharist to offer further sacrifice for sins:
    *
1414 As sacrifice, the Eucharist is also offered in reparation for the sins of the living and the dead and to obtain spiritual or temporal benefits from God.
    *
1689 The Eucharistic Sacrifice. …In the Eucharist, the Church expresses her efficacious communion with the departed:… offering to the Father in the Holy Spirit the sacrifice of the death and resurrection of Christ, she asks to purify his child of his sins and their consequences… It is by the Eucharist… that the community of the faithful, especially the family of the deceased, learn to live in communion with the one who "has fallen asleep in the Lord," by communicating in the Body of Christ…
    *
1367 The sacrifice of Christ and the sacrifice of the Eucharist are one single sacrifice: "The victim is one and the same: … only the manner of offering is different." "And since in this divine sacrifice which is celebrated in the Mass, the same Christ who offered himself once in a bloody manner on the altar of the cross is contained and is offered in an unbloody manner. . . this sacrifice is truly propitiatory [has the power to make God ready and able to forgive you of sin]."
    *
III. The Bible does NOT teach that we need to offer up further sacrifice for sins. The Bible could NOT be clearer on this subject. *The Roman Catholic Church knows this and can only support its teaching by playing word games: It states that the Eucharist and Jesus' sacrifice on the cross are "ONE SINGLE SACRIFICE." *In this section, we will examine this important issue in light of the truth of the Bible:
    *
******The Bible says: Ye shall know the TRUTH and the TRUTH shall make you free (John 8:32, emphasis added). *We must first of all understand that the Roman Catholic Church is not telling the truth, it is not being honest in its use of terms. *It says that Jesus sacrifice and the sacrifice of the Eucharist are "ONE SINGE SACRIFICE" (1367). *It does not deny that the Eucharist is a sacrifice. *It simply attempts to make its sacrifice, the Eucharist, and God’s sacrifice for sins, Jesus’ death on the cross, the SAME sacrifice. In order for this to really be true, though, the sacrifice of the Eucharist would have to actually be the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross of Calvary. *Yet is that the truth? *Are the sacrifice of the Eucharist and the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross REALLY the same sacrifice, are they really a SINGLE sacrifice?
    *

Two sets are screaming! Four crying out loud.

get it - its how you interpret it

And we believe the RCC via the Pope is wrong on many important interpretations of the Bible.

Mother Theresa to Rev. Michael Van Der Peet: "Jesus has a very special love for you. As for me, the silence and the emptiness is so great that I look and do not see, listen and do not hear."

See also: Mother Theresas' Crisis of Faith.

See further: 2 Tim 4:3-8. Compare: Paul's testimony to Mother Theresa's.

    Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

If Mother Theresa put her faith in Rcc sacraments and not in Christ ALONE, she is in Hell for HER sins.

The Roman man made organization does preach salvation by works.

The Roman Catholic cult in their Catechism teaches that we can merit grace necessary for salvation and that eternal life is attained by faith, baptism
Holy Spirit and , and keeping the commandments.
    1. CCC 2010, "...Moved by the by charity, we can then merit for ourselves and for others the graces needed for our sanctification, for the increase of grace and charity, and for the attainment of eternal life."
    2. CCC 2027, "Moved by the Holy Spirit, we can merit for ourselves and for others all the graces needed to attain eternal life, as well as necessary temporal goods."
    3. CCC 2068, "The Council of Trent teaches that the Ten Commandments are obligatory for Christians and that the justified man is still bound to keep them;28 the Second Vatican Council confirms: "The bishops, successors of the apostles, receive from the Lord . . . the mission of teaching all peoples, and of preaching the Gospel to every creature, so that all men may attain salvation through faith, Baptism and the observance of the Commandments."
This obviously faulty teaching in the CCC is hugely problematic since it contradicts Scripture.
    1. Rom. 3:28-30, "For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the Law. 29Or is God the God of Jews only? Is He not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also, 30since indeed God who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith is one."
    2. Rom. 4:3, "For what does the Scripture say? "And Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness."
    3. Rom. 4:5, "But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is reckoned as righteousness,"
    4. Rom. 5:1, "therefore having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ."
    5. Rom. 11:6, "But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works, otherwise grace is no longer grace."
    6. Gal. 2:16, "nevertheless knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the Law but through faith in Christ Jesus, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we may be justified by faith in Christ, and not by the works of the Law; since by the works of the Law shall no flesh be justified."
    We have to ask questions.
    1. Why is the RCC teaching that you attain salvation through observing the commandments when the Bible says we are saved apart from the works of the Law (Rom. 3:28-30; 4:5; Gal. 2:16)?
    2. Why would the Roman Catholic Church teach that you merit for yourself the grace needed for eternal life when that clearly contradicts Rom 11:6?
There is a great deal wrong with what the RCC teaches. We must look to God's word and not to what the RCC says we must do to be saved. Our salvation is not merited by our keeping the commandments! The Roman Catholic Church needs to repent.

In the interests of being "wise as serpents and harmless as doves": tirades and diatribes turn most people off. Love and forgiveness will melt the scales of strong delusion. See the Beatitudes.

"Father, forgive them; they know not what they do", Jesus dying on a tree on Golgotha, circa 33 A.D. His own had just "received Him not".

    Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

If you are crying out loud - Praise the Lord" then you are on the right road. But if not, then someone needs to cry out loud to God to have mercy on your soul.

In the OP the statement is made:

1272* Incorporated into Christ by Baptism, the person baptized is configured to Christ. Baptism seals the Christian with the indelible spiritual mark (character) of his belonging to Christ. No sin can erase this mark, even if sin prevents Baptism from bearing the fruits of salvation. Given once for all, Baptism cannot be repeated.

If I read the above correctly it states that one who is baptized is saved eternally absent any other action on their part.

Yet I then read the following:

980 It is through the sacrament of Penance that the baptized can be reconciled with God and with the Church: …"a laborious kind of baptism." This sacrament of Penance is necessary for salvation for those who have fallen after Baptism…

So the question I put to all adherents to the Church of Rome on this BB; especially Briony-Gloriana, since she exclaimed, "Oh for crying out loud.....": Which of the above statements is true?

Really....and how do you know that specifically? Have you been given permission to see into the Lambs book of Life?

.....and believing in Jesus Christ as your lord & savior....and in sincere repentance. Therefore both faith & repentance are critical elements in salvation.

Ahhh, that alone wont do it brother. The bigger problem is enculturation, perhaps brain washing, and what her environment is teaching her. Its difficult to break what you have ingratiated into you. Even if you become upset with them & look around, if its the religion of your family & friends....and they have a dominant status in the community.....you are going to have a hard time seeing the light.

In NJ there are 70% of church going people who are Catholic. Other states, like Mass & RI have more. Fairly certain that NZ is loaded with Catholics as well.

No, OldRegular, you did not read Section 1272 correctly. I don't know how you missed it but Section 1272 says, "even if sin prevents baptism from bearing the fruits of salvation." I realize it's hard for you to accept but saved people can lose their salvation due to sins committed after baptism. You even supplied the words "saved eternally" which isn't anywhere in the Catholic lexicon.

It is you who did not read it correctly:

No sin can erase this mark, even if sin prevents Baptism from bearing the fruits of salvation. Given once for all, Baptism cannot be repeated.

Surely you can understand the following:

Baptism seals the Christian with the indelible spiritual mark (character) of his belonging to Christ. No sin can erase this mark,

Of course the doctrine of Baptismal regeneration is false but you people should at least be self consistent even if wrong!

I don't know where you are coming from but I will post the same message to you!

Notice the statement also states: even if sin prevents Baptism from bearing the fruits of salvation.

It does not say sin erases salvation but from bearing the fruits of salvation. In fact it says: No sin can erase this mark,[/u] Big, big difference!

And the lexicon of the Church of Rome is false doctrine. It would seem that you should be able to understand the statement I quoted even if baptismal regeneration is a myth created out of whole cloth by, was it Pope Constantine? Who knows!
