In 2013 the Republicans were blamed in the media for the shutdown of the Government.

In the last election Republicans picked up 9 Senate seats and would have won Virginia with a little help from the Republican Bureaucracy. They also picked up 20 or so House seats.

If the DHS funding bill does not pass it is likely that the Media will again blame the Republicans. Will the Republicans be hurt as bad in 2016 as they were in 2014?

Yes, it might be possible for the Republicans to be penalized by another 9 Senate and some 20 House seats.

The Democrats will be responsible for the shutdown but the GOP will be blamed by the Democrats. It might be time to undo Bush's Dept. of Homeland Security if their job is to keep the borders wide open.

The GOP has a majority in each house. It is not the fault of the Democrats that the Republicans cannot get along with each other. If the GOP would begin working and making rational decisions things would be different.

I would like to see your proof on that point. The Senate is nuts with their special rules. If it were a simple majority on all issues, then the Senate might be a democratic institution. However, if the GOP were able to defund Obama's executive order, he would probably veto the bill and the GOP could not override a veto.

Obama swore to uphold the law and the constitution but he declines to uphold the law on immigration as the Democrats shine the shoes of the rich in the US Chamber of Commerce who want cheap labor no matter how much it costs.

Insanity - doing the same thing but expecting different results.
Don't worry about it. They also picked up 3 blue governorships.

The left side is blind, deaf and dumb to the fact that their "clock was cleaned" both times in the off-elections and why it was so.

So, if they continue to play the Harry Reid tantrum game with what little power they have that has not been taken away from them - then next time around: super Republican majority in both houses along with a Republican President.

So let them have their Harry Reid type tantrum. The American public is fully aware (proven by past elections) to the reality of the emperor's new clothes (except for the emperor and his devotees).

Although it remains to be seen what the Republicans can do to get us out of the present quagmire (a favorite word of the late Teddy Kennedy).

A Texas Court has stayed Obama's unconstitutional order. It now goes to the 5th Circuit in New Orleans!

Just to show how spineless the followers of Obama are, even after he said 22 times it would be unconstitutional for him to grant amnesty to illegals, the fall in line with him like little ducklings. Under Obammma's order these illegals would be able to vote.

All the democrats care about is unfettered access to abortion and a Marxist government. That includes all Obama supporters on this Forum. As Christians they should know better but they just don't care!
