    I'm not kidding....

Yesterday afternoon (1:00ish) we were outside playing kickball and sweating in the 81 degree heat. Kid came back in with the reddest faces you've ever seen and the light odor of "little wet goats". LOL.

This morning? It's 29 degrees with snow and ice all over the ground again!!

Here in northeast Georgia I woke up to temps around 65°F. It's already down to 53° (in a span of about 2 hours) and still dropping. Projected to be in the mid-to-upper-30s by the time I leave the office. Looks like we'll miss out on the snow and ice, though.

Funny part was a couple hours ago Weather.com was showing the temp in my hometown to be 58° but the high for the day was forecast to be 55°. I love it when they make projections like that.

I was really funny to call the time and temperature yesterday and hear the recording say, "Current temperature 81 degrees - forecast for tomorrow, ice and snow accumulation."

I once worked for a Penske truck rental location and in mid April we had a man move to my hometown from Watertown, NY. That particular day it was quite warm, a bit above average (avg being 73), about 85 or so. He hopped out of his truck and I met him to check the truck in. His first words to me were "Is it always this hot down here?"

I laughed, and said "No sir, wait until August."

He asked, "What happens in August?"

"Oh, daily highs about 90-97 with 100 percent humidity."

He didn't like that at all.

And you can keep them. We had a heat wave yesterday, too. It broke the freezing mark for the first time since February 4th. Fortunately it has rebounded to a more seasonable 14*. Tomorrow, it is forecasted to hit -8 for a record 32d time of below zero temps since the first of the year.

It's not that I lack sympathy for those of you in the South but get a sweater and quit your griping.

It was really funny to hear someone calls up the time and temperature line...

There are quite a few days that I run the furnace in the morning to take the chill out of the air and in the afternoon you have to switch over to the air conditioner.

I remember two years ago in mid-May 2013, the high temp was 58 degrees, the next day it was 102, next day it was 80.

I have mixed feelings about this winter. I'm so glad we've had a non-winter here in Minnesota (for once). On the other hand, the rest of the country is getting a taste of our typical winter. There is a part of me that says--"see, how do you like it" and another part that feels sorry for them for the suffering they are enduring.

GA/LA sounds close to what KY Augusts are. Depending where you're at in LA (well, GA too), I'd think there would be some moderation somewhat inland from the ocean, wrong?

I'm closer to Gainesville than Atlanta, about 1000 feet above sea level, and approximately 225 miles inland. Our summer usually gets up to around 95 or so. Few days go over 100. A few years back we had a stretch of about 7 straight days over 100, getting as high as 107. Even at 7pm it was still around 103. We usually get some strong storms in the spring and again late summer. I'm close to Lake Lanier, and any thunderstorm that rolls across the lake basically gets recharged and stronger on the other side.

I saw a few minutes ago that we are now above freezing in my bit of Northern Wisconsin. Seems like it has been months since we saw 33F.

Took a short drive this morning on one of the area lakes. I think that will be the last time this season.

We've had an unbelievably mild winter. Compared to last year's three month long sub-arctic front. It would be nice to see snow.

LOL I can't stand when the weather does that. It's like all four seasons in the span of a couple days. That kind of rapidly changing weather tends to give me colds. Either stay cold or stay hot, but I'd prefer Spring type weather all year myself.
