Ok, for those who insist that there is no difference between the Left and the Right - Democrats and Republicans - Liberal and Conservative....

What is your real world solution that actually has any possibility of coming about?

Give us the solution that isn't merely tilting at windmills.

No one here insists that's there's no difference between the right and the left. That's one of those statements lefties and righties like to use when they don't want to admit that both parties are controlled by the same "special" interests.

    The solution?

Wake up and smell the scam. Then tell everyone you know about it.

    If you dare.

The windmills being tilted are the political and social ideas that people are so concerned about. We get a very limited amount of time on this planet. Compared to eternity, which most here claim to be planning on spending with Christ, our time here is less than a flash. Yet, we will spend every minute of our lives worrying about this world. This life. Planning for tomorrow. Money, homes, cars, the color of our neighbors, what will we ever do with the 10 or 20 more years we might have.

We act as though getting saved is the end game and we have nothing better to do with our time. So very little effort is put into planning for eternity. We forget that even though our location in eternity is settled, our rewards and position in that eternal state is in constant flux. We will face our savior who died on the cross and be judged for what we did for the rest of his image bearers in His creation.

I feel confident in promising you that Christ will not once thank you for your political affiliation. Whether you supported tax cuts or raising of taxes. Because you accused Obama of being from Kenya, or Bush of being a coke head. He will bring you to your knees on the account of the person down the street who died and went to hell because a Christian was to busy arguing on the internet to get out and witness.

Both parties are absolutely identical in every way. Both part of a corrupted, sinful, man made system that is all part of a corrupt and sinful world destroyed by sin and run by the devil himself until our Lord returns.

The solution is to walk away from it all. We scream about being part of the world, but American Christians are grown into it like part of the worlds flesh. Not being part of the world does not mean listening to hymns instead of rap. It means not being taken in by the worlds desires, but rather continuing what which God started in the Garden. Bringing salvation to all image bearers who will accept it in anticipation of a restored paradise with our Christ as ruler.

Nonsense! "Walking away from it all" by "true believers" is one reason we are in the chaos we are in. "Walking away from it all" is part of the doctrine of many, many of the pre-trib-rapture-ready bunch. Jesus Christ is going to return any minute, and snatch us out of this evil world, so why worry!

If the Christians had not been "Walking away from it all" there would be no abortuaries, there would be no 55 million unborn babies slaughtered, there would be no homosexual marriage, there would be no socialist state. Christians have sat on their thumbs and let the leftists destroy this Republic. They sat on their thumbs and let Obama, a true Marxist and confidant of terrorist Bill Ayers, get elected twice.

Except for the bolded part I totally agree!!

Most, that I know their eschatology, are pre-trib, pre-mil, but your description fits exactly "0".

I would suggest that you not let this belief be such a burr under your saddle. This is not a hill to die on.
I am totally pre-trib, but I'm not gonna bash you for believing differently; can you extend the same courtesy to us?

    Thanks for your response.

Until 1965 I was actively engaged in politics in SC. In the spring of 1965 I was saved and joined a Southern Baptist Church. Most of the Southern Baptists, and I suppose all the Pentecostal groups, around here are pre-trib. I have never been and am not now. However, there was an attitude among the church members to sort of "let the world go its way". Sadly in some respects I adopted that attitude and was no longer directly involved in politics.

Pre-tribber Jerry Falwell did attempt to get more Christians involved with his Moral Majority but that movement has faded and as far as I know nothing has taken its place.

I regret that my remarks have offended you! I should not have used the word "doctrine" for certainly that is not dispensational doctrine but is the belief of many dispensationalists I know. Some believe the worse the world gets the sooner the "Rapture" will occur. Some months ago a Jew in Florida took note of this attitude among some of pre-trib persuasion, noting the belief in the great tribulation and Jacob's time of trouble for the Jews!

If I hated the pre-tribbers, as some accuse me, I would hate most of my brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ around here, and I don't, not even one! Frankly, but sadly, I believe that the doctrine of the "any moment Rapture", consciously or subconsciously, creates an attitude of 'let the world go its way", I am out of here.

“What the government is good at is collecting taxes, taking away your freedoms and killing people. It’s not good at much else.”—Author Tom Clancy

The American people remain eager to be persuaded that a new president in the White House can solve the problems that plague us. Yet no matter who wins this next presidential election, you can rest assured that the new boss will be the same as the old boss, and we - the permanent underclass in America - will continue to be forced to march in lockstep with the police state in all matters, public and private.

Indeed, as I point out in my new book Battlefield America: The War on the American People, it really doesn’t matter what you call them - the 1%, the elite, the controllers, the masterminds, the shadow government, the police state, the surveillance state, the military industrial complex - so long as you understand that no matter which party occupies the White House in 2017, the unelected bureaucracy that actually calls the shots will continue to do so.

Consider the following a much-needed reality check, an antidote if you will, against an overdose of overhyped campaign announcements, lofty electoral promises and meaningless patriotic sentiments that land us right back in the same prison cell.

    The Solution

If there is to be any hope of restoring our freedoms and reclaiming control over our government, it will rest not with the politicians but with the people themselves. When all is said and done, each American will have to decide for themselves whether they prefer dangerous freedom to peaceful slavery.

Well, the original op asked for solutions apart from the Democrats and Republicans. The solution is to govern this nation by the Constitution. Neither party goes by or respects the Constitution. The last time the US Government followed the Constitution in declaring was WW2. We have lost thousands in Korea, Vietnam, Eastern Europe, Somalia, Iraq, Kuwait, Afghanistan, Panama, Croatia, etc, etc. We did not declare war, and it is a mess in all these places. Why, because we did not declare war, we did not go in to win, and win decisively, with a quick exit. No the unconstitutional way is to half win and rebuild the damage we caused.

The Constitution was written for a purpose, to govern this nation. The President and Congress are suppose to be servants of the people, not taking all the power and treasury they can lay their hands on. Congressmen's salaries are near 200,000. They work 126 days a year. When they are in session, most of the time is spent playing political games. Everyone of them ought to be in the penitentiary for theft.

The governments number one job is to protect our borders and defend our liberty and freedom. Both parties have failed miserably. They have no Constitutional authority to run up debt, redistribute wealth, or to establish a federal reserve.

Both parties support gay marriage, and in reality the result on the abortion rate is exactly the same. Since Reagan left office, the Republicans have crammed down our throats liberal candidate after liberal candidate. We have so lowered our expectations as Americans we think Romney and McCain are knights in shinning armor. Let me guess, well over half of you will not get involved in the political process and will feel good about voting for Jeb Bush.

On a Christian basis, both parties are from the pits of hell. Their example is greed, self indulgence, lust for power, love of money, and the next election. There is no difference between the two in the face of a Holy God. We have eyes but do not see and ears and do not hear. If next November rolls around and you have to pick between Bush and Clinton, you got just what you deserve.
