Shocking video shows Ukrainian neo-nazi militia fighters carrying out an ISIS-style execution during which they nail a separatist rebel to a cross and then burn him alive.

The authenticity of the footage is yet to be confirmed, although it seems chillingly real on first viewing.

The brutal murder was reportedly carried out by members of the Azov Battalion, which was converted into a regiment last year, making it a de facto part of the Ukrainian Army. The paramilitary group forms “the backbone of the forces fighting against the local self-defense militia advocating independence from Ukraine.”

Ukrainian nationalist volunteers have repeatedly been accused of carrying out “ISIS-style war crimes” during the conflict, including beheadings.

All that I read in the OP was a quote from an article.

    But okay...

I've been objecting to supporting these nuts almost everyday for over a year now.

That's why I'm known as an "un American Putin lover" that hates America and the military around here.

You were probably to busy paying attention to what the democrats were doing to notice though. :)

So what do you think Zaac? How much more money and how many more weapons should we give these heroic Ukrainian lovers of freedom?

I read your question about objecting as referring to the incident in the article.

If we give them one red cent or continue to train them, we might as well nuke ourselves because there is no difference between these guys and ISIL/ISIS.

The story even mentioned how this is the same dumb thing we did in Libya and Syria. SO why haven't we figured things out yet?

Because we still believe the corporate media tells us the truth.

Because we love to hate who they tell us to hate.

Because we can't break out of the false left vs right paradigm long enough to figure out both sides are owned and controlled by the same oligarchs.

Because we're to caught up in hating who they tell us to hate.

Because we won't allow ourselves to believe "our side" is corrupt and full of bought off liars too.

Because we'd rather believe what the corporate propagandists that are wrapped up in the flag are telling us rather than what the evidence is showing us.

Because we've built our houses on the shifting and sinking sands of party politics instead of the solid rock of our constitution and founding principles.

    Obvious questions:

    Was the man burned alive?

Assuming he was, and that's far from certain, how do we know who these people are?

As it is right now, it appears what you have here is...well...nothing. No wonder you had to beg for a response.

    From the article:
"The authenticity of the footage is yet to be confirmed,..."

Can it be proved that it is not a Russian-produced video? Smells a bit like Gleiwitz or Russia's attack on its own town of Mainila in 1939.

Good point. There are neo-Nazis all across Europe, with over half of them in Russia.:

"Disturbing images of Russian neo-Nazi skinheads attacking defenseless, unsuspecting immigrants have been circling the globe via the Internet. It was those pictures that provoked 28-year-old journalist Christof Putzel to make what turned out to be an extraordinary trip to Russia to find out what is going on.
"They're really brutal," Putzel said of the attacks. "A lot of times they end in fatalities. In the first six months of this year, I think, to the best information that we have … there have been over 300 attacks and 47 of those have ended in fatalities.

"This is not play-acting. It's not a rare occurrence. It's happening almost every single day."

In a country that lost more people defeating the Nazis than any other country, there are now an estimated 50,000 to 70,000 neo-Nazis, half of the world's total. They even have supporters in parliament."

The Ukrainian neo nazis even have supporters in our State Dept and congress and in the corporate media and even some right here on Baptist Board.

But I strongly suspect the later is due to the former (sources perceived to be "credible" ) lying to us and or covering up exactly what kind of nuts congress is giving money and weapons to over there.

Kinda like they did when congress in a rare and heroic show of bipartisanship decided to fund and arm "ISIS", formerly known as "moderate rebels", "brave defenders of democracy" , and "all around nice guys".

We don't even know if those were Ukrainian neo-Nazis in the video. There are more neo-Nazis in Russia than anywhere else in Europe, and the video might well have been of them. And yet to some, right here on this board, Russia can do no wrong and anything that they or their government must be defended. Brave defenders of human rights.

Shame you don't apply the same amount of scrutiny to your own "sources".

If the person or persons who posted the video were a "credible" sounding corporate sponsored organization with a panel of "experts" you probably wouldn't even bother with little details like that. You didn't concern yourself with the little details missing from the pictures of the "alleged" Russian invasion forces in Ukraine you posted as "proof" in another thread.

Matter of fact you ignored my questions about whether or not you could identify the soldiers by their uniforms, and if you could verify who took the pictures, where the pictures were taken, and when the pictures were taken.

You replied, eventually but told me that you were under no obligation to answer my questions if I remember right and I have a very good memory.

I can go dig up that thread and show you your exact words if you like. http://www.baptistboard.com/showthread.php?t=98694&highlight=ukraine&page=6 Yep, just as I remembered.

Love using hyperbole much or what?

I would have thought that Poncho would have been eager to comment about the possibility of a Black Flag operation. I guess that this particular one does not fit with his agenda.

I posted video that was headlined, not by me, but the newspaper that featured it as Russian tanks driving through the Donetsk region of Ukraine. Nope, I personally cannot identify the units involved, but quoted a Russian defense expert who has listed various Russian army units involved in the Kiev and Ukrainian operations.

What does your "shock video" say about it's authenticity? Literally that it cannot be verified in any way shape or form. What was that about hyperbole again?

As far as your argument that fascists and neo-Nazis had taken over Kiev, you are just parroting Putin's excuses. He used the excuse that fascists and neo-Nazis had taken over Kiev and would "stop short of nothing" in their quest to brutalize Russians and Jews. Funny thing is the Jews noticed no such oppression and even took out full page ads in the New York times stating, - “The Russian-speaking citizens of Ukraine are not being humiliated or discriminated against, their civil rights have not been limited,” the ad states. “Your certainty of the growth of anti-Semitism in Ukraine also does not correspond to the actual facts. It seems you have confused Ukraine with Russia."
