    Its a simple question.

The OP not only requests that only Revelation passages be used to answer, but that Moderation, instead of closing the thread at the request of someone not even involved in the thread, but deal with those individuals that disrupt threads so that page counts is added to and the discussion derailed.

In the last thread we had a poll that had three votes for one resurrection and 5 votes for more than one, three resurrections receiving 3 votes.

Perhaps if we can keep this in topic we might see more participation.

I will state my view, that there are three:

The resurrection of the Two Witnesses,

The Resurrection of the Tribulation Martyrs, which takes place just after Christ's return and prior to Millennial Kingdom,

The Resurrection of the dead, which takes place after the Millennial Kingdom and just prior to the Great White Throne Judgement.

Please reference only Revelation, as the texts that are relevant are only found there.

    God bless.

If it doesn't interest you find another thread. I find it hard to believe you cannot understand the relevance of why people see different numbers of resurrection in Revelation.

However if you would like to share how many you feel there are, and explain why or why not the three mentioned above are or are not resurrections, then love to have you on board.

But please do not derail the thread and evade questions that arise in the course of the discussion.

    God bless.

Revelation is the 'capstone' of the entire Bible. To correctly interpret it you absolutely must compare scripture with scripture.

Nope there will be a resurrection of both, The church in Revelation 4, the Old Testament Saints and the Tribulation Saints in Chapter 20. Then chapter 20 says 1000 years later the unbelievers will be resurrected.

Peter says Christ preached to those in Prison that would be in Hades and all in the grave at His death. Paul says Christ descended before He ascended.

Revelation 20:4 "And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years".

5 "But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection."

6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,

8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.

9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.

10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

    Nothing needs to be added.

There are seven parallel sections in Revelation and, therefore, seven pictures of the return of Jesus Christ. Since when Jesus Christ returns there will be a general resurrection and judgment as shown in John 5:28, 29: Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. I suppose then one could claim there are seven Resurrections in the Book of Revelation! But who knows what the pre-cribbers will claim?

The message of the Book of Revelation: The Saints are vindicated and victorious through Jesus Christ our LORD!

Please don't hold your breath while you wait. You are one of the few who will stand up to Darby's nightmare!

I have presented the appropriate passages {Post #9} from Revelation above. Might as well close the thread!

    Heh! redneck.

I vote we leave this chilly thread and let DC, revmac, and whoever else they can dig up, and I don't mean Charles Spurgeon, the Prince of Baptist Preachers!

And not sure why a couple of Catholics posing as Baptists would be omn this board to begin with.

I really mean't silly thread. That spell checker will do it to you but then DC is a little chilly toward anyone who disagrees with Darby's new revelation!
