Why should a prospective employer be required to consider for hire someone who they deem unqualified?

    What specifically are you asking?

Since we are asking each other questions, take note that you did not answer mine from Post #2.

What do YOU consider a job that requires such? Also look at some comments in the petition will probably help clear it up for you if you are interested in why. Its basically trying to counter the effects of illegals flooding the workplace and helping people here who were raised to speak English from being excluded from many jobs.

From the Petition: "... if its a skilled job like Nursing, banking, teaching (general), engineer, lab tech, health, I dont need to be able to be fluent or speak spanish, since my primary job isnt to speak spanish but my skill." I would contend that these examples might be considered jobs that require knowledge of Spanish if that is the customer base.

Ironic that the author of the petition has trouble with English.

The petition: "Bilingual in Spanish or any other language shouldnt be a requirement in a job unles sits a translator job, if its a skilled job like Nursing, banking, teaching (general), engineer, lab tech, health, I dont need to be able to be fluent or speak spanish, since my primary job isnt to speak spanish but my skill.

It is discrimatory, against non speakers , it is not a skill to speak Spanish uless it is a translator job.
    "

There are multiple other errors not noted.

Are you sure that this petition is not a joke?

Customer base is because of invasion from Mexico.....called illegals. They are walking dollar signs and company's cave because the government failed to protect English speaking Americans. Do you know what language you MUST speak to become a U.S. Citizen or get rejected? Why require English for the legal route then?

If I owned a store - say McDonalds - is in an area of - say a large (legal) Vietnamese population - I would want someone - preferable a Vietnamese to work.

As an Employer, I should be able to hire anyone I see fit - that would make my business successful.
