The super-rich do not want democracy. They want their own dictatorship over the people. And these are the folk the GOP is getting billions from. It is to whom they are selling their soul.

No one said "The Hyper-Rich Should Seize Power". And heaven forbid we balance our budget and live within our means. Yea that would be terrible.

Well I read it. Here's the thematic paragraph of the whole article:

“The emergence of many billion-dollar-plus private fortunes over the last three decades,” Murray writes, “has enabled the private sector to take on ambitious national or even international tasks that formerly could be done only by nation-states.” Murray’s most ambitious proposal is a legal defense fund, which “could get started if just one wealthy American cared enough to contribute, say, a few hundred million dollars,” that would essentially give that wealthy American veto power over much of U.S. law.

Murray, in other words, would rather transfer much of our sovereign nation’s power to govern itself to a single privileged individual than continue to live under the government America’s voters have chosen.

How the author of this tripe gets from a legal defense fund to one person having the ability to veto much of U.S. law and then make the giant leap to transfer our nation's power to one individual is beyond me.

Following are some remarks about the Book By the People by the author Crab is dumping on. Well he is really dumping on Bush but what does anyone expect from a disciple of Marx/Obama! Then of course Crab has found another Marxist web site!

This is rich coming from think progress since that is exactly what liberals want to do. They are the ones who want limit freedom with guns, soft drinks, grazing cattle etc.

You know the extreme liberal far left both in congress and here on this board claim conservatives want to take democracy from people but what we need to understand is just what they think democracy is,

Their version of democracy is controlling the message so that anyone who opposes their view and agenda cannot be heard.

Their version of democracy is illegally and intentionally allowing illegals to enter this country and then illegally giving them benefits through enslaving American citizens who must work to pay for those benefits against their will.

(by the way just how many hours a week should Americans have to work in order to support illegal criminal aliens?)

Their version of democracy is then using those benefits that American citizens are now enslaved to, to win enough votes in this country on a regular basis so that conservatives never win elections.

Their version of democracy is making it illegal to own guns so that when they pass tyrannical laws that the American citizen slaves no longer want to tolerate they have no self defense.

I will now tell you what the far left extreme liberal people in congress and some on this board's version of democracy does not include.

It does not include self governance.

It does not include freedom to succeed.

It does not include small government.

It does not include freedom of life.

It does not include freedom to spend your money that you earned as you see fit.

It does not include the founding principles of this country of which they hate.

It does not include solid biblical principles.

    It does not include freedom.

In many of these areas they are winning and have won but what they fail to see is that no matter what success they accomplish with their agenda they suck at being human beings and I'll tell you why. They suck at being human beings because they do not have guts to stand up in front of the American people and be straight with them about the intentions of their end game. They suck at being human beings because they only know how to get things done in back room deals with international trade deals classified so no one can oppose what they are doing instead of providing actual leadership. They suck at being human beings because they hide the details of bills and say "We have to pass it to know what is in it". They suck at being human beings because they refuse to answer direct questions about past decisions that unnecessarily cost the lives of Americans.

Many people may not like George Bush but to this day he is still standing in front of the troops who have come home with permanent disabilities and looking them in the eye. George Bush is still standing tall, to this day, in front of parents who lost their children in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other parts of the world and when they are angry at him he does not run. George Bush stands there and listens to those angry parents. He does so because he loves America, he does so because he loves American troops, and he does so because he sent them in harms way and they are his responsibility.

That knucklehead that sits in the chair behind the desk in the oval office right now wouldn't admit to spitting on the sidewalk much less look a parent or the troops in the face. He and others like him in his admin hide behind their office, play politics with people's lives, and do not care about America, its people, or anything beyond their agenda. They are nothing but two bit left wing radicals who suck at being human beings.

They can take their anti-Americanism and stick it up their nose.

    Rant over

Good post but a little too polite in your next to last sentence.

It is strange but in this country the people who most want to preserve what the Constitution guarantees us are called reactionaries while the people who want to destroy that Constitution and return to some form of totalitarian government, whether a monarchy or Marxist dictatorship are now calling themselves progressives.:BangHead::BangHead:

The link the Crab posted is a leftist web site whose sole purpose is identical with that of the Crab. The book by Bush'd favorite author is referenced in the article. The link I provided presents either a review or a brief excerpt!
