I know that the rule here has been no discussion of human sexuality including homosexuality but I do believe that today, with the social climate as it is, having civil discussions about this issue could be beneficial. Honestly, we will be facing a lot of judgment and hardship as a church as the government begins to normalize this wrong lifestyle and sharing ideas on how we deal with it and how we address homosexuals in our congregation could be helpful. Could the leadership here begin the discussion of the possibility of allowing the discussion regarding homosexuality and the church as long as we do not discuss the specifics of what the lifestyle entails? Thanks!

I wholeheartedly agree with Ann. Christians must know how to reach out to these people along with transgendered people and church membership that struggles with sexual addictions.

I've been here since 2002. The reason being for not allowing these discussions has always been that this is a family-friendly site and that we don't want minors reading these things.

Well, I'm not so sure about the family-friendliness of the BB anymore - at least not the friendliness part. And our young people are exposed to the acceptance and tolerance of these problems far more than we could imagine.

And they KNOW what all of these things are. Refusing to discuss what the church should do to help people in this depraved culture we live in is NOT protecting our children.

I will give a 4th vote for "agree".
Christians shouldn't shy away from difficult situations.

I think this rule has been relaxed quite a bit as society has rapidly changed over the past several years. What about this topic has NOT been discussed on BB? What's not being allowed that you want to see allowed?

I kinda thought what you're saying too ITL, but I know there are some who have been warned by the admin on this subject, so I'm not sure just how much they have relaxed.

This is a flesh issue right.....It needs to be openly discussed. However I understand administrators hesitancy in adding it to the register. It could be a bear to keep order.

I will not violate current rules and state the opinions that were given, but just a couple months ago, we had posts edited and a thread closed because of it.

We just had the Tony Campolo thread closed because of the "no sexuality posts" rule.

The problem that occurred in that thread was it got unnecessarily dragged off on to the actual activity of homosexuality when the same individual began arguing, unnecessarily, about attraction.

So it went from a discussion about how the church is dealing with it to the actual sexuality part which is forbidden.

Which is probably why it's not allowed. Given how this board discusses racial issues I don't blame them.
