My experience with speaking in Tongues.

I never sought tongues, but I am not against it either. I never made it a big issue.

But a few months after I accepted Jesus I ended up in Spain.

I went out to the fishing area off a pier and sat by myself.

A old man came and sat by me.

I had been sitting praying in tongues in just a quit whisper.

Then this man asks me if I am an American. I say yes.

He said "Do you speak only English" I said "Yes".

He said "Then why do I hear you speaking in French, German, and Spanish"

He said "You are speaking about the might works of God".

What is the motive for searching, is it to find fault with someone?

Is that one of the attributes we are admonished to display?

I write a lot of things, but I assure you my motive is not like yours...

Spreading the good news of a life changed is in hope that someone will ask God to do that for them.

The motive is to uncover wolves in sheep's clothing. You are a self described Christian that doesn't believe in traditional Christian doctrine. You come to a site for Baptists, yet you aren't one. Your entire purpose here is in question.

Well question it all u like. You seem to be hostile. Not quite the same spirit as Jesus, maybe not of his seed, maybe you should follow Paul's admonishment to make sure you are in Christ. I mean maybe your just religious, like a pharisee. You should ask for prayer at your church. For your own sake. Or possibly you just need some anger management advice. Hope you find the help you need, so you don't divide with brethren in the future..

Just curious, Matt, but is there a reason(s) why you most always end your posts with this statement?

    OK................I guess!!??

I suppose I'm still back in the 20th century when it comes to these items. I'm still wondering whether or not it's safe to install a Flash Drive on my laptop. (Visions of flashes coming from all of its ports come to mind!!) :type:

    Matt replied:
It is also unethical to copy and paste from another site and not give the URL from which you posted from. It is called plagiarism, and not tolerated here.

What if he's the original author and he merely copied-and-pasted his own writing to save time typing?

    Oh boy!

You guys are brilliant...Almost as IF YOU GUYS WANT TO FIND FAULT. I guess that is a virtue that I have not found in the scriptures?

It wouldn't be unethical IF I WROTE IT...Which I did...Along with my testimony, they all came from me writing them with my own hand...

Ah one gracious brother who has common sense, and who comes to the correct conclusion... Thank You.

Yes, he should give it so the reader can see the context of the quote given.
Furthermore, if one here should take a quote of his from here and source it this way: "I have this quote from an anonymous poster at the Baptist Board," and someone does his due diligence like Matt, then you could be accused of plagiarism.
Thirdly, it is a matter of being ethical, forthright and honest. Take an example of others. I have never seen John MacArthur answer a question of another, and when using a quote of his own material, not refer the person back to where he got it from--his own website, his book, etc. It is simply the proper thing to do.

I think Matt's due diligence was a waste of his time, and he could have used his time more wisely.

I don't think people being suspicious is brotherly nor following the Spirit of Christ...

    The flesh can be religious.

I don't believe my due diligence was a waste of time. It enabled me to see your statements such as:

"A Christian, Who No Longer Agrees, With Almost All Church Doctrines… What to do?"

"I am guess I would not be considered orthodox in my beliefs after almost dieing 6 years ago..

I have posted many of my new found beliefs here:"

    http://beforeitsnews.com/religion/2...-all-church-doctrines-what-to-do-2491230.html

I definitely have to wonder why someone who disagrees with almost all church doctrines would want to come to a board like this? In all cases that I have seen it has been to try and spread their heresies.

    Heresies?

Oh man, and you can't be kind, you can't even be brotherly, even if I am in error, and you want to teach or correct me...Losing your chance to save me from hells door...
From what well will you find a love that is lacking, enabling you to draw others to yourself?

You act as if I'm hiding something, and you found me out...

Once again you need to ask yourself about your motive. You don't even know me, and as Paul says "Be all things to all people that I might win some": That is what I try to do.
So I can't just write anything, everywhere. It would offend brethren, we should be wise, and harmless, Don't you agree? It is obvious some things may be too much for YOU to accept...

My whole life has been a journey, that I have often times not understood, so it stands to reason certainly others would not...

So WHY DID YOU pick my name out of the thousands of posters here at this forum?

Are you bias towards me, or possibly to hate my testimony. What would spark this effort that you have gone to, to "UNCOVER" my great attempt to deceive....

I suggest brother, that you are in the wrong.

You do not know me, nor have you welcomed me into the fold. IF I was in error, you certainly lost all chances at winning me over to Christ or correcting my error in brotherly love.

I back up my statements with (what I'm sure is just the tip of the iceberge) you proclaiming that Baptists (and any other denomination) is committing sin:

    http://www.baptistboard.com/showthread.php?t=100345

and that churches are the anti-christ:

I'm done here, but will leave with a prediction. You won't last 30 days.

Predict what you want...I've lasted 59 years. Who cares if I last for 30 days or not.

You fail to address your own issues...

You sound as a man who stands at the gates of all that is right, and pure, saving God from men's errors. He does not need you help, but you certainly need his.

Yet you have not been able to show kindness. I would say your at best...In the milk of God's word, you should examine yourself.

Here I am trying to help you, and you have not even been welcoming to me. Whose fruit is enduring here.

BUT I would prefer a loving dialogue between two brothers...

Your actions make me wonder, if you are more in love with doctrines, than that of anything else...

We do not fellowship around doctrine, even though doctrine is important. We fellowship around love, and we try to encourage one another as I am doing with you, to see your error, as I endeavor to see my own in this life.

Blessings to you, and bid you farewell, as that is your request.
