The article you link is very poor and leaves out much of the modern history of the two parties. It cannot be taken seriously.

took a quick look at the link.
It said Ike ended discrimination in the Armed Forces.
Actually, it was Harry Truman (a Dem)

I have found two sources that say Ike desegregated the military in his first term.

That's right it was Truman. And he did it by executive order. 9981

Finally, finally after many many years the "ponch" actually starts a thread that is based on REALITY. You are to be congratulated ponch.

You got to know it is good when "the Crab" disputes it!

[QUOTECivil] rights for blacks had appeared on the national agenda, but Eisenhower did not give enthusiastic support to the Warren Court decision in the Brown case in 1954 which outlawed school segregation. Eisenhower did approve a weak Civil Rights bill in 1957. When Governor Orval Faubus defied a federal court order regarding school integration in Little Rock in 1957, Eisenhower nationalized the state National Guard and sent in elite Army combat troops to enforce the court orders. Eisenhower successfully integrated the military during his first term (a process begun by Truman in 1948), and integrated the public schools in the District of Columbia.[/QUOTE]

Actually the threads I start are all based on fact and evidence. Unfortunately "reality" is mostly an illusion projected by Washington DC and the mainstream corporate media where opinion, misinformation and party talking points are often mistaken for facts and evidence.

Your own inability to find credible evidence of a Russian invasion of Ukraine after all this time should be proof enough of that.

Ike played a major role in this as well. He was the one who in fact implemented it in his first term. Truman never really saw any actual effective implementation. The op is not incorrect.
