Martin Luther, the successor of the ideals of both Wycliffe and Huss said:
"I was overwhelmed with astonishment. I could not understand for what cause they had burnt so great a man, who explained the Scriptures with so much gravity and skill."

Defending the Truth does not make for many pension checks.
One English Bible translator was hanged, buried, exumed, burned, and more for translating. Amazing.

When we are confronted with the choice of a pension or the Truth, some do not choose wisely.

Preaching Truth will get one in trouble with the religious powers that be in a heartbeat. Look what happened to Jesus.

"If our only hope in Jesus is in this world, we are of all men most miserable."

Thank the Lord for those who stand for the Truth without wavering--regardless of stipend.

    Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

B.J. you are mistaken. You are conflating Wycliffe and Tyndale. The former was not killed, the latter was. Tyndale's body wasn't exhumed. Wycliffe's was.

Thank you for the errata pointer. The point I was trying to make is that those who would follow the Truth will not be well received by the religious world. In fact, they will be martyred. All the glory goes to God.

    Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
