Featured Brawl Breaks Out In Front Of South Carolina Statehouse Over Confederate Flag

    COLUMBIA, S.C. (CBS Atlanta/AP) — One man has been arrested after a fight over the Confederate flag in front of the South Carolina Statehouse.
    The brawl started about 7:15 p.m. Monday when about a dozen vehicles with Confederate flag supporters pulled up in front of the Statehouse and stopped in the middle of the street, Public Safety Department spokeswoman Sherri Iacobelli said in a statement.
    About 10 of the flag supporters clashed with about 30 people who were on the Statehouse grounds protesting the flag, the statement said.
    “The blood on my face, the blood in my teeth, the blood on my hands is no comparison to the Southern blood that runs through my veins,” Joe Linder told CBS News.
    Linder, who was hit during the fight, supports the Confederate flag and says “racism has no part” in it.
    “I’m gonna tell you one thing, I ain’t sitting down; this’ll just make me walk taller,” he told CBS News.

    The reporter says that in 2 weeks the KKK plans to rally at the State House in order to show their support for keeping the flag (Confederate) up.

    This in itself should be enough to show folks why it needs to come down.

    Uh no you tried to tie the people in the op to the KKK in order to make the intent of the people in the op racist. Question begging is what that is.

    Yup. All you. And you've stated the flag isn't enough. That we have to tear down monuments, erase memories, rename parks, buildings, even cities. You won't ever be happy. So most of us think you're just full of hate.

    And you can live your life letting the KKK tell you what to hate. Don't expect me to follow.

    Your ignorance is hanging out again.

    The United States flag is the official flag of the KKK. Get over it. You can't change it. And they don't want to.

    The confederate flag used as a symbol of racism is the democrat party creation.
