The moral crisis of our time is not just abortion and gay marriage. The moral crisis of our time includes:

    Insider trading
    Obscene CEO pay
    Wage theft from ordinary workers
    Banking's gambling addiction
    Corporate payoffs to politicians
    Billionaire takeover of our democracy
    Churches selling out to politics
    Immoral TV programs and movies

Do you think Solomon was evil and wicked because he was the richest man in the world at the time?

I guess that's why God allowed Satan to "deal with" Job (who was "sort of a CEO" in the Uz area).

Yeah, Job, just 'cause you had 7,000 sheep and 3,000 camels and 500 teams of oxen and 500 female donkeys---thus making you the richest person in Uz, that's the reason why God (via Satan) "tested" you!!

See what being rich does to you!!

Really you think this tops the list?

The word obscene is purely relative and a personal opinion.

So someone is going into the bank accounts of people and stealing their checks?

Which is forced on banks to to "social justice" regulations.

What about union payoffs to politicians?

Like George Sorros but again what about union take over of our democracy?

You must mean like the churches that have folks like Al Sharpton come to them to speak and churches that put whose page adds supporting Bill Clinton in his campaign.

That is certainly part of it. I wonder though why homosexuality and abortion are not on your list with many other things?

I would agree only with the last one. The Kingdom of God is not of this world. Jesus was not concerned with politics or economics.

Good list - government won't solve these problems.
These crisises are the expressions of an inward moral problem and the reason for our hope in the coming King of kings.

Probably should put devaluing human life on that list. Folks don't give a rat's behind for other folk.

Padre, add it to the list. I agree.

I am sure there are more moral issues that can be thought of and added.

Moral issues are indeed sinful lifestyles, and also deniel of the true Gospel and real Jesus!

Wealth is NOT a sin issue per say, as God does bless some to be really rich in this life, but sin is when they disobey the lord on how they should be using their monies for his kingdom work, and not on themselves!

I agree. Also the list does not contain all the moral issues of our time.

This must be an irrational question. He hasn't answered it.

Off the OP. We are talking about modern immorality. There were no multi-corporations, stock market, etc. in Solomon's time. There is no comparison that is rational.

The comparison between the wealth of Solomon and the wealthy of today is a good one.

Given the vagueness of the list in the op comparisons to CEO pay are open to interpretation and therefore rational.

    The definition of rational:

I believe your comparison was made with reason and understanding. Should there have been a more specific intent of the op in mentioning CEO pay it should have been explained. Since there was none the comparison of the wealth between CEO's and Solomon are reasonable.

I would suggest that the overuse of words like "rational" simply to express dislike of what someone says may not, itself, be rational.

So it's OK to be super rich, just as long as it wasn't from a corporation, or stock market ?

How much of your wealth is derived from you playing the stock market ? Do you consider yourself evil ?

I will start answer questions from you when you begin to be honese and begin answering the hundreds of questions I ask you, but you remained silent about. Sorry fellow. No more discussion with you until you begin to be honest and begin being rational in your replies.

    Blessings to you and yours.

Pfft to you. I'll ask them anyway. You can pretend anything you want to. Sorry fellow yourself. "Why do you hate the poor ?" is NOT a question. Not sure why such a putatively well read person such as yourself needs to be told this. But that's all you have.

Can anyone else explain this seemingly hypocritical stance by CTBoy ? I sure can't.

I think all of these fall under the category 'exploitation'. Sadly, most Americans don't view exploitation of others as a problem...as long as they aren't being the ones exploited.

It is NOT a sin though that CEO make what they do, as long as they are supplying good jobs and industry for rest of us!

God does bless some with GREAT finanicail blessings, in order to have his agenda and kingdom work go forth, does he not?

And would you rather have it a system where all of us shate equally in poverty then, as wealth distribution of socialiats and marxists would bring to us?
