The concept of the “false flag” operation has become almost prohibitively stigmatized in recent years because of the 9/11 “truther” movement and the emotional fallout from the tragedies at Sandy Hook, Aurora, Boston and others. In spite of being labeled “conspiracy theories,” real, verifiable false flag events have taken place in the past. Such examples serve to dismantle the notion that false flags are meritless conspiracy theories and can help destigmatize the concept itself, providing the diagnostic lens needed to identify false flags when they arise.

Author Richard Dolan made a presentation at the 2015 Contact in the Desert conference about what he calls the “false flag era.” According to Dolan, because false flag operations require control over the global media narrative and the ability to intimidate other countries into not speaking out against “inside jobs,” only a few countries have the means and motives to pull them off.

The false flag phenomenon is distinctively modern and used as an ideological weapon to control populations with the fear of a manufactured enemy. They are used in ostensibly democratic systems where people believe they have inalienable rights. Such democratic systems—primarily the United States, Israel, and Great Britain—must shock people into sociopolitical and geopolitical consent and, as such, require sophisticated modern propaganda systems and advanced covert operations teams with highly proficient skills.

Once again you find a way to avoid discussing what's in the article, coincidence . . . or programming?

So you three are denying that the U.S. government staged a false flag terror attack to overthrow the Iranian government in 1953. Right?

    http://nsarchive.gwu.edu/NSAEBB/NSAEBB28/

You are also denying that Operation Gladio was comprised of a series of state sponsored false flag events that killed hundreds of people to being about a certain political "solution". Right?

You three are denying these things ever happened, right?

See this symbol ? it's called a question mark. It's used at the end of a sentence to signify that the person composing the sentence is asking a question not making a statement or accusation.

Now that that's hopefully cleared up I'll ask the same question, again . . .

You three are denying these things ever happened, right?

A simple yes or no will do for an answer.

There is no evidence in this thread that your "questionable" assumptions are correct.

Try again. This time, try not to make assumptions based on facts not in evidence. It won't work next time either.

By this I can only "assume" that you're afraid to answer the question.

You haven't asked a question yet. Right? is not a question. It's rhetorical confirmation of your own conclusions and requires no answer.

Ask a direct question and you might get a direct answer. Ask rhetorical questions and you get...guess what...rhetoric, if you get a response at all.

Yep and your opinions are most usually backed up by . . . surprise! Your own opinion.

I never figured you'd answer the question because it would leave you open to other questions and you'd just end up having to make up more excuses not to answer them either.

    Keep on . . . [IMG]

My opinion is at least as good as any CT around.

BTW Tonkin Gulf was not a "false flag" operation.

That's your opinion. In my opinion the evidence (below) is more credible than your opinion.

    As I noted last year:

On Monday, former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Hugh Shelton told Jon Stewart that a Clinton cabinet member proposed letting Saddam kill an American pilot as a pretext for war in Iraq:

This might seem, at first glance, like just an odd, one-off suggestion.

However, as reported by the New York Times and other newspapers, George W. Bush also suggested to Tony Blair that a U.S. plane be painted in United Nations colors so that – if Saddam shot it down – it would create a casus belli. As the Times wrote in 2006:

The memo [confirmed by two senior British officials as being authentic] also shows that the president and the prime minister acknowledged that no unconventional weapons had been found inside Iraq. Faced with the possibility of not finding any before the planned invasion, Mr. Bush talked about several ways to provoke a confrontation, including a proposal to paint a United States surveillance plane in the colors of the United Nations in hopes of drawing fire ….

Indeed, the former director of the National Security Agency said:

By any measure the US has long used terrorism. In ‘78-79 the Senate was trying to pass a law against international terrorism – in every version they produced, the lawyers said the US would be in violation.

    Your evidence confirms my opinion.

In this case "false flag" is simply another word for lie. Johnson lied through his teeth. There wasn't any flag involved. He just invented an "attack" as an excuse to send troops to Vietnam.

I've known this for decades. Please tell me you have something more than an event that is common knowledge.

Iran was not a false flag. Just a coup engineered by the CIA and MI6. No "flags" involved except Irans.

Gladio comes the closest to being a real "false flag" operation.

The rest of your examples are balony.

Fancy CT terms don't change what really took place.

Got anything but guesses and more CTs for anything after the 60s? This stuff is all so old.

Now go look up the definition of "false flag".

That would make you a CT in the closet for years wouldn't it?

After you look up the definition of "false flag", read this

    http://nsarchive.gwu.edu/NSAEBB/ciacase/EXL.pdf

    Comes closest?

    Correction, that's "documented" baloney. http://nsarchive.gwu.edu/news/20010430/northwoods.pdf

You re-defining words and terms doesn't change what really took place either

You already have enough reading to keep you busy for several days so why don't you ask me for more after you're done with these documents?

The really neat thing about being a CT is that you can claim all kinds of events are conspiracies or "false flags". You might even get one right some day and get to beat on your chest and crow. But let's not mention the 300 you missed.

    http://nymag.com/news/features/conspiracy-theories/false-flags/

The Government Orchestrated and Staged Each of These Mass-Casualty Events

During the Cold War, a “false flag” operation meant spies pretending to be friendly while sending secrets to the Kremlin or Langley.

Nowadays the term has a significantly different meaning: mass-casualty events designed to appear perpetrated by outside sources.

According to conspiracy theorists, they include the Sandy Hook massacre, staged with actors to push gun control; the Aurora shooting, on the eve of the U.N. small arms treaty vote; the Boston Marathon bombing, which resembled a DHS drill, was attended by mysterious military contractors, and allowed the imposition of martial law; the shooting in the Washington Navy Yard, to distract us from the Benghazi anniversary; the use of chemical weapons pinned on the Syrian army, which Ron Paul (among others) believes was staged by the U.S.; the Oklahoma City bombing, to advance anti-terrorism legislation; and—since the U.S. now fully controls Al Qaeda—the Kenyan mall attack, for who knows what purpose.
