I was talking to some ladies in the church and I did some research, and I found out that most contraceptive pills are actually just murder.

Many Doctors may tell you that the pill does not terminate pregnancy, but that's because they often redefine pregnancy to mean when the fertilized egg implants itself on the wall of the uterus, therefore contraceptive pills can cause the death of a fertilized egg through starvation by preventing it from implanting on the wall of the uterus.

Long story short, most if not all contraceptives can cause death to fertilized eggs.

"The fact that the hormonal contraceptives have an abortive potential is discussed in the paper circulated at AAPLOG’s 1998 midwinter meeting. “Most (virtually all) literature dealing with hormonal contraception ascribes a three-fold action to these agents. 1. inhibition of ovulation, 2. inhibition of sperm transport, and 3. production of a “hostile endometrium”, which presumably prevents or disrupts implantation of the developing baby if the first two mechanisms fail. The first two mechanisms are true contraception. "

From my studies I have found that all pills do number 3 as described above, and none of them will be 100 percent successful with number 1 and 2.

“I asked him, ‘Does the Pill sometimes fail to prevent ovulation?’ He said ‘yes’. I asked, ‘What happens then?’ He said, ‘The cervical mucus slows down the sperm. And if that doesn’t work,if you end up with a fertilized egg, it won’t implant and grow because of the less hospitable endometrium.’ (Emphasis in the original)

“I then asked Hill if he was certain the pill made implantation less likely. ‘Oh yes,’ he replied. I said, ‘ So you don’t think this is just a theoretical effect of the Pill?’ He said the following, which I draw directly from my extensive notes of our conversation.

“Oh, no, it’s not theoretical. It’s observable. We know what an endometrium looks like when it’s rich and most receptive to the fertilized egg. When the woman is taking the Pill, you can clearly see the difference, based both on gross appearance – as seen with the naked eye – and under a microscope. At the time when the endometrium would normally accept a fertilized egg, if a woman is taking the Pill it is much less likely to do so.” (Emphasis in the original)"

"With some contraceptives there is not only a link with abortion there is an identity. Some contraceptives are abortifacients; they work by causing early term abortions. The IUD seems to prevent a fertilized egg — a new little human being — from implanting in the uterine wall. The pill does not always stop ovulation but sometimes prevents implantation of the growing embryo. And, of course, the new RU 486 pill works altogether by aborting a new fetus, a new baby. Although some in the pro-life movement occasional speak out against the contraceptives that are abortifacients most generally steer clear of the issue of contraception.

How often do the first two mechanisms fail?

Well, how many times does it fail?

Well, this is partially true but if an egg does happen to be fertilized, it CAN grow into a baby - as evidenced by so many "pill" babies. But I think it is an important thing for women to understand that the pill CAN cause a fertilized egg to not be able to implant and thus cause the death of a very early child. This is why when I was on the pill for medical reasons, I also used another form of barrier birth control.

I truly do not know but it is far, far less frequent than your failed posts.

    I'm not too sure.

I do know that they do not always work though..

But the basic idea is that if the first two fail, its probably going to lead to death.

OK, but don't the first have two something like 99+% success rate?

As to the 3rd outcome leading to death we know there are pregnancies that occur when women are on the pill and we know that conceptions occur but don't attach to the uterine wall (#3 without the pill) and there are miscarriages after pregnancies.

I'm trying to find out how rare outcome #3 is. If it's 0.1% of the time then to say "contraceptive pills lead to deaths of unborn children" is really stretching it. It's technically accurate but so is saying "pregnancy leads to the death of unborn children" when speaking about miscarriages.

1 time is too many. I knew about this before getting married and decided that I would never use hormonal birth control because of my strong prolife stance. This is not a view that I put onto others as I figure everyone needs to come to their own conclusions but I think people need to know the facts so that they can make an informed decision.

As a women who struggles with infertility comparing miscarriage and chemical pregnancies to the purposeful death the pill can cause is cruel
I know that you did not mean it that way but every time someone makes a glib statement about how not all pregnancies end in birth it is a dagger to the heart of women who struggle to get pregnant or have had miscarriage. Just a little food for thought.

I apologize if I caused you any pain with my statement. I should have been more sensitive. My sister had one of her twin sons stillborn. I know she's never gotten over it.

My doc years ago told me that there is the pill, and then there is the pill.

What she meant was that SOME versions have a higher ovulation breakthrough rate than others for SOME women. A good pro life doc can help you navigate the muddy waters.

But she also said that on even the worst pill at causing failure to implant or very early loss of a fertilized egg, there is far more risk of that OFF the pill.

Think of it this way: yep, Mrs. Duggar and those pushing this "pill kills babies" idea are correct that it can. BUT there is far more chance of fertilization without pregnancy resulting NOT practicing birth control than with it.

So you can consider yourself pro life and use the pill if you wish. My experience on it, and my daughter's, was that the hormonal upset, mood upset, and other side effects made it so totally a bad idea it soon was not an issue. A good barrier form combined with good spermicide used properly are usually just about as effect, and less side effects.
