July 18, 1937... Wrong way Corrigan was going to fly from NY to Calif instead he ended up in Ireland.

Also on this same date in the 1976 Olympic Games, Nadia Comanich representing Romania scored a perfect 10 in gymnastics... Brother Glen

Since my ancestors came to America, I wouldn't mind going to Ireland for a visit.....It'd sure beat having to go to California, the home of Jerry Brown, Nancy Pelosi, and Barbara Boxer! And I suppose I'd have to bring my own water supply with me, given the drought that they're experiencing.:BangHead:

Yep, the Emerald Isle sure beats CA. No doubt that Shannon International Airport is friendlier than LAX too!

Of course I am aware of the turmoil that rocked Ireland for many years. But, for the most part, they seemed to have gotten over it.

OTOH, I seemed to recall a country that also had an armed conflict that lasted for about four years that killed many people and destroyed much property.

Although the actual fighting may have stopped, the bad feelings that led up to it are still with that nation's populace some 150 years after that war.

If you can't figure out to what country I'm referring, well.....just go to your nearest Wal-Mart and try to buy a flag that represented one of the sides in that conflict.

IMHO, "We'd" all get along much better without self-serving agitators such as the "Rev.(?)" Al Sharpton showing up at almost every place where there's been some kind of racially charged incident to stir up even more discontent.

What real help has he (and his fellow-travelers) been in these cases? If he's the "Reverend" he claims to be, why doesn't he try to minister reconciliation among his fellow men rather than merely rubbing salt into the wounds of a society that needs healing?

BTW, who funds this "Reverend" so that he can fly all over our country--seemingly at a moment's notice--to spread his brand of racial discord among a society that sorely needs unity rather than more hatred?

It'd be revealing if "Reverend Al" were audited to find out who are the ones that foots his bills, wouldn't it?

I remember when Nadia scored those perfect tens. I remember that the score board only went up to 9.99. So to show a 10 - all that showed was 0.00. There wasn't room for the 1. She cried because she thought she was given a zero. Someone had to explain it to her.
