You cannot overstate how embarrassing Donald Trump has become for the GOP. The party of Lincoln and Eisenhower is getting pantsed by a tacky reality TV star and Clinton Foundation donor who tweeted that Jeb Bush likes "Mexican illegals because of his wife." A man who has repeatedly made can't-lose enterprises like casinos and New York real estate go bankrupt has the gall to get off the phone with his party's chairman and tell the media, "We're not dealing with a five-star Army general." The Republican leadership even confesses that it is paralyzed by this crazy right-wing challenger whose last presidential run began by quitting the GOP for the Reform Party, with the explanation: "I really believe the Republicans are just too crazy right."

But the truth is that Republicans have only themselves to blame. Trump's success in the polls is not just a matter of spectacle. Republicans have let the issue of illegal immigration simmer for two decades. And rather than pick a course and stick to it, the party has done a series of head fakes. That has allowed Trump to ride this issue, more than any other, into the top tier of early polling.

Donald Trump is the epitome of "Pirates of the Caribbean":

"You are without doubt, the worst pirate I have ever heard of."

"Ah, but you have heard of me."

And guess what wins elections these days?....

Who do the democrats have to blame for the racisti-in-chief, Obama and his heirs apparent, the "corruption" called Hillary and Bill. Paraphrasing you Mr. Crab: "But the truth is that the "corruption" of leftist democrats have only themselves to blame."

I would also note that Trump is not a
rather he is a clever pro-abortion, leftist capitalist like many wealthy leftist democrats!

Methinks a lot of the GOP DOES like Trump because, he is saying things that many Republicans would not be willing to say publicly.

If it wasn't the immigration issue Trump would be making noise about something else.

Yup. Because every businessman knows, bad publicity is free; and gets your name recognized more than good publicity.

Trump's remarks on immigration struck a note among many people. I recall when Perot's "giant sucking sound caused by NAFTA" also struck a note among people. However, Perot poll numbers abruptly shrunk and he ran as a 3rd party Candidate giving the Election to Bill Clinton. I wonder if the "Leftist Billionaire Trump" is planning to do the same for Hillary Clinton!

The GOP does not have a problem with Trump. Their problem is deeply rooted in what they have become over the last few decades. Like the DNC, the GOP is irrelevant, too political and selfish. Both are stale and o of step with the people they swore to protect, serve and defend.

    That is it Exactly!:applause:

He appeals to a segment of the base that is angry about a number of things but he is the only candidate saying it. So the folks who feel the same, are supporting him.

Could just all be a ruse to make him look extreme and the rest of the candidates look a little more normal.

The Dems do not want the illegal criminal immigration issue settled else they would have settled it the first two years of Obama admin.

Strange how the democrats, and the compliant media, ignore that truth!

In part the Media is keeping it under wrap - and when they do bring it up - they use the L.E.F.T. term of "Undocumented Immigrant"

Or the Repubs could have handled it during Bush's administration.

Or they could have handled it when they had both houses of Congress.

Must mean they don't really want to do anything.

    Leave them folks alone.

Yeah, I don't quite trust Trump and often wonder if he's playing us - he is a salesman, after all, and could be just telling the right (and the millions upset over illegal immigration) what we want to hear. He should instead do a new reality tv show if and when he loses the GOP primaries, the old ones were a hoot.

What's refreshing is that Trump is actually addressing the problem and that's more than the Democrat Party is doing right there. They want the votes and the GOP wants the labor. Now Trump is actually leading in some polls and it's because his last name is not Clinton nor Bush and he's not giving lip service to "securing the border". He is a threat, they sure broke the mold when they made that one.

Queen Hillary would be worse than Obama if that is possible. The Democrats express no remorse at all the deaths and crimes caused by illegals. So therefore Trump may become a serious contender on that one issue.

I don't know why intellectual Democrats such as you, Crabtown, even care who the GOP nominates, especially since it is a given that Queen Hillary will be the next President and Bill will be the new Mr. Mom, a terror among the interns, no?

Democrats need more Latrineooos because they work at the low-paying jobs that Americans don't want and they are not too smart since they always vote Democrat.

What is worse is that the democrats, including professing Christians, express no remorse at the slaughter of 56 million unborn or just born babies.

The Democrats are the party of slavery, KKK, Jim Crow, abortion, and the legalization of same-sex marriage.

However, Bill Clinton has to change his name because his middle name is Jefferson so I am guessing that his new name will be William Lewinsky Clinton unless the boss makes him change it to William Rodham Clinton.

Intellectual Democrats are far more embarrassed about Trump than the GOP is. McCain said that Trump's voters were "crazies." What is really crazy is that Arizona just might dump McCain and that someone like Trump just might upset Hillary.
