What no "attaboys"? Folks here spend pages hammering each other on all kinds of opinions. But, not a single "attaboy" or "It's about time" for a device that would save the lives of children and heartache for their families.

I do not believe lack of responses indicate no one read it or appreciates the information in the post. Like many prayer requests the op is read but there may not be any significant response in mind.

After all the Mod Alerts I get, a few "I'm gonna buy one for my grandkids." would be nice.

Attaboy, WalMart! It's about time. I'm gonna buy one for my grandkids.

    ...

Of course, my oldest is only 6...

I am curious though. How does it prevent hot car deaths?

It doesn't cost anything to keep a child from dying in a hot car.

It's called being responsible and it's free.

Would in real life, it would be so simple. If it were there would be alot less suffering and tragedy. But as they say life happens, even to the otherwise most responsible of parents. This comes under the heading of child-proofing a home. Until now, there wasn't the technology to do so.

Exactly. Sometimes stuff just happens and folks on the outside looking in can come up with everything the person could or should have done differently to prevent it.

Just consider this another step in aiding to prevent the deaths.

Good job to whomever developed it. They need a contract with car companies to make it an add-on when people purchase a car.

Leaving a child in a hot car does not just happen. Ever. You have to do it on purpose.

So you don't think anybody ever has left their kids in a car by accident? Really?

Right. Like all those child care workers who on purpose leave the kids on those hot buses.

I'm gonna assume your statement was purely facetious.

If you leave your kid in the car by "accident" you should neither have kids or be able to drive cars.

Yet lots of people do it and still have kids and are able to drive cars. This again goes back again to some of you not being able to acknowledge anyone's reality except your own.

People, with no ill intent, often leave their kids in the car by accident. You never know what all is in someone's mind that they forget that they still have a kid in the car.

Yes well let's excuse this horrific and irresponsible behavior. The consequences are high there is no room for error here.

You'd be amazed at how easily things like this can happen to parents. I would imagine they would be pretty devastated and would need a lot of help to get through something like that. Hopefully, they wouldn't have you as a pastor.

Nothing but the truth. When you're juggling kids and family and work and everything else, it's REALLY easy to get distracted and do something like this.

That's why it's good to have the reminder.

I appreciate the beeping reminder that my keys are still in the ignition. I can't imagine how appreciative a busy parent would be to get a reminder that a child is still in a car seat.
