    I was out witnessing today at a Denver city park and before we knew it I was stopped by a Park Ranger whom said we could not pass out tracts there. I pressed the ranger for the law and would not back down, and he eventually radio'd his supervisor whom said that we could pass out tracts and he gave me the okay to continue doing evangelism which we did. My partner got into a long conversation with a man whom witnessed the whole incident so the gospel was planted there.

    Has anyone experienced anything like this before? I am wondering if in these last days more and more christians will be intimidated by law enforcement to STOP their evangelism or else.. The attacks will continue even if the christian has not broken any law nor done anything wrong as we did not. I did not open air, but I imagine open air preachers will be silenced as well by law enforcement hungry to silence the gospel from being proclaimed in the open air.

    Jordan have you ever had an experience like this? Perhaps while you were out doing evangelism by yourself or with your team? No doubt even law enforcement will turn against christians these days.

    JonC and Scarlett have told you about this often evan. And I have done the same. Why do you continue to use "whom" when it makes you sound uneducated?

    As I have said before :Sound out your sentences with your use of "whom" and see if they sound silly or not. Just drop "whom" altogether and use the word who. Who is a perfectly acceptable word. Try it, you might like it.

    Rule. Use this he/him method to decide whether who or whom is correct:

    he = who
    him = whom

    Examples:
    Who/Whom wrote the letter?
    He wrote the letter. Therefore, who is correct.

    Who/Whom should I vote for?
    Should I vote for him? Therefore, whom is correct.

    We all know who/whom pulled that prank.
    This sentence contains two clauses: we all know and who/whom pulled that prank. We are interested in the second clause because it contains the who/whom. He pulled that prank. Therefore, who is correct.

    We wondered who/whom the book was about.
    This sentence contains two clauses: we wondered and who/whom the book was about. Again, we are interested in the second clause because it contains the who/whom. The book was about him. Therefore, whom is correct.

    Note: This rule is compromised by an odd infatuation people have with whom—and not for good reasons. At its worst, the use of whom becomes a form of one-upmanship some employ to appear sophisticated. The following is an example of the pseudo-sophisticated whom.

    Incorrect: a woman whom I think is a genius

    In this case whom is not the object of I think. Put I think at the end and witness the folly: a woman whom is a genius, I think.

    Correct: a woman who I think is a genius

    Learn to spot and avoid this too-common pitfall.

    The law will continue to change until it is squarely against believers at all points. You will pay a heavier fine for open displays or meetings. Churches will be taxed and choked, only the true ones will survive, and become hidden. Forget church and Christianity as you know it. Evan has experienced the beginning. God has a 3rd warning coming soon for America.

    To be honest all of us do not always use the best grammar or sentence structure. Picking out one is just personal pet peeves.

    True enough. One can naively "appear" to be sophisticated, but...

    -3 for improper use of "whom" (3 times).

    -2 for not capitalizing proper names (Christian, 2 times).

    +25 for standing up to the park ranger.

    +25 for standing firm.

    A++.
