Obviously no issue has gotten people more stirred up lately than the dentist, Palmer, killing the lion, "Cecil." We see these pics of all the junk at the dentist's office and posters saying "Rot in hell" among other things. While most people who say that do not believe (IMO) there is a hell to which anyone will go, this seems to be considered a great evil, and even on this board it is termed a "moral" issue. To Christians a "moral issue" is a sin issue. So, was it a sin for the man to kill that lion, and why? Multiple answers are allowed.

We sin with our gossip of the man and the incident.

He broke Zimbabwe law. He committed a felony. And this is not the first time. He is a convicted felon for illegally killing a black bear in Wisconsin in 2006.

"The powers that be are ordained of God and whosoever resists the powers that be resists the ordinance of God."

Oh, and my answer is not one of those listed to vote for. My answer is:

"Yes. He committed several felonies against established and known (to both him and his "guide") Zimbabwe law."

My own opinion. Was the act of killing the lion sin? No. Was the act of breaking the law of that land? Yes. Is trophy hunting (meat wasted, head/pelt taken to be used as decoration) sin? No, but it unethical and contemptible.

I was taught to eat what game animals I kill.
