    Batesville, Ind. mayor facing charges in prostitution probe

    BATESVILLE, Ind. -- The mayor of Batesville, Indiana, was arrested Tuesday on a charge of patronizing a prostitute.

    Mayor Richard C. Fledderman, 60, is accused of paying for sex acts with Indianapolis man Randy Wigle-Stevens, 42, in June.

    Wigle-Stevens was also arrested Tuesday and charged with prostitution, intimidation and failure to disclose dangerous communicable disease status.

    "You can go around any street in this town," Andy Gutzwiller, a resident of Batesville, said. "It is definitely the talk of the town."

    The homosexual prostitute had aids and did not tell the Mayor but attempted to blackmail the Mayor after learning of the identity of the man who paid him. The Mayor is married to a schoolteacher.

    Batesville is where caskets are manufactured--that industry has no downturns and no lay offs. Batesville is noted for their high death rate--one per capita, in case you are wondering.

    The Mayor is a Democrat.

    The issue here for Roman Catholics and Protestant Fundamentalists is whether or not the wife is entitled to a divorce since her husband could well have transmitted a fatal disease to her?

    Actually, it's more of a RCC problem. "Protestant Fundamentalist" are not monolithic on the question. Some segments would and some segments would not. Unless, you are subscribing to the fallacy that there Fundamentalism is centrally organized like the RC or EO Churches. And the actionable cause would be adultery, not what you cited. Though, that could be used as proof of adultery.

    I live not even 20 miles from Batesville. This IS a topic of discussion around here. Batesville Casket Company. Batesville is a heavy RCC place. Oldenburg Academy is down the road. The local Southern Baptist church shut its doors there. I
